  1. I understand completely. People need to see what they are actually buying. Not a canned promo picture from the manufacturer's website.
  2. OK I understand. I have a picture of several bags of brass together, would that satisfy the picture requirement? As far as marking items sold, there is a constant flow in and out. What is sold out today may have a saleable quantity tomorrow. I want to be within the rules.
  3. sketch, I'm not sure what the purpose of your post was but rest assured the cases I am selling are as advertised. As I said in my response to your first post in this thread the shell casings I am selling are just as I picked them up. Day of the week, time of day, or temperature of that day make no difference once they have been fired and cooled off laying on the ground, You are correct in saying reloaders need to know their brass life, and I make no claims about how many times the cases I get have been fired. All of them are a mixed bag, just as I have picked them up. I could add a bunch of pictures but to what point? Anyone who has been to a shooting range knows what fired brass looks like. A bunch of pictures would only add to bandwidth consumption and they would be on the thread forever with not being able to edit a post once it is up. I have had many extremely happy customers and quite a few repeat customers so I assume people are getting what they expect when they open the boxes.

  8. Virtually all of them are once fired except the 45 ACP which has some twice fired commercially reloaded shells mixed in. I say commercially reloaded going by the ammo boxes I find in the garbage barrels at the range. They are just as I picked them up. Being within 10 minutes of the most prolific public range in the area has its benefits

  10. Hi Adam My rifle is basically an Aero. I built it using all Aero upper, lower, and internal parts. It has been great so far and I have had no problems with it from the first shot on through today. Most of my posts here on the forum have dealt with it in one way or another, and my experiences with it.
  11. Just call it a 7mm-08AR and enjoy the looks of WTF? on the faces of the people you are talking to. A buddy is tossing around building one in .243. The brass is a bit easier to find/scavenge for reloading.
  12. Ohhh, the mouse guns, and a baby mouse gun arrived before the rat. First a Colt 6920 that no longer looks like a stock 6920, a 300 Blackout 16" Carbine, then a 8" Blackout pistol. It was a building progression. Bought the Colt first, bought the upper then the lower for the Blackout, built the lower and bought the upper for the pistol, then built the entire 308. Thankfully my wife understands the AR urge and went so far as to name them Thelma, Louise, Babette, and Bertha.
  13. Its from MFT whoever that is. I picked it up at WalMart believe it or not.
  14. This past winter/spring I assembled my 308AR from Aero Precison parts and a 18.5" lightweight Criterion barrel from Fulton Armory. From Areo: Enhanced Upper assembly Lower NiB BCG Charge Handle Lower Parts From Ebay: Carbine buffer tube 308AR buffer spring and buffer Everything went together without a hitch and the gunsmith that checked headspace said it was one of the few he has seen that came out to a zero (perfect from what he said). The first range trip was a bit nerve wracking because this was my first build from scratch and I had been reading horror stories for a couple months about how people couldn't get their 308 to run. I set the rifle in my rest, loaded a round into the magazine, popped the mag into the rifle, pointed it downrange and put my face into the crook of my elbow of my left arm before pulling the trigger. I figured if something was going to blow I didn't want my face 2" from the boom. Pulling the trigger was a non-event. The gun went bang, the case clattered into the wire mesh at the side of the station and the BCG locked back. Success! Next came two bullets in the mag. Again face in arm, pulled the trigger and bang clatter then another bang clatter on the second pull and locked open. Success again! Over the next 1/2 hour or so it ate every bullet I had along perfectly. Since then I have spent a lot of time developing loads for it and it has performed flawlessly with every single one. This rifle now has close to 1000 rounds through it with only 20 being factory PPU 147grain ball. All of the rest have been handloads of mine. I am thankful I did as much reading before the build process as I did and purchased all the major parts from one manufacturer to get them to play nicely with one another. It seems to have paid off.
  15. As the title says, will an ACT trigger work in a 308AR? I'm thinking of upgrading and have read good reviews about them in AR15s but can't seem to find anything about the 308s. Any experiences in 308?
  16. Does anyone have any experience using H322 in loads for a 308 AR? More specifically, using it with bullets over 150 grains. Hodgdon lists a load for 150 and I have found a few references to loads using 168 gr on the web but does anyone have first hand real world experiences with it? Any info on charge weight, bullet size, primer type, and case would be greatly appreciated. I've been using CFE223 in my 308 loads and they have been good, but the temperature sensitivity almost got me this past summer (blown primers on a near max load). H322 is a Hodgdon extreme powder (temp. insensitive) and its micro extrusion size flows just about as well as the ball CFE223 so I'm thinking of making a switch if I can come up with a load that works.
  17. Most excellent thread hijack guys! The bullets are all pulled, the cases are all emptied and a new test ladder is in the works. I can't say the hot 10mm flying cases did me any good but I did get a laugh out of some of the comments. Carry on carrying on!
  18. I found the same thing on Hodgdon's site. A new ladder is probably in the works. I would rather determine a good load in warm weather and have to adjust the sights to compensate for cold, than worry about the weather being too hot and having the issues I have now. I'm in Wisconsin. Our summers can hit 80s to 90s fairly easily but deer season is the week of Thanksgiving and has been in the single digits fairly often. My hunting loads were put together when it was cooler and won't be used until the time comes to sight in come November.
  19. For background info please refer to my previous post here: To make a longish story shorter I made up a few hundred rounds using the 48.8 grain load of CFE 223 at 2.815 COAL. Back in April with daytime temps in the 50s and 60s I had no pressure signs and things looked good. I went to the range a couple days ago with a different test ladder and intended on using these Hornady Match 48.8 grain loads for the first barrel warming shots before beginning the ladder shots. The first shot with the Hornadys had a wicked ejector mark on it, the second had the primer popped partially out, and the third blew the primer out completely. Temps were in the low 80s. Obviously the CFE223 is temperature sensitive enough to jack up the pressure with the warmer daytime temp. My questions are, how far back would you guys with more experience go to begin a new ladder test? Would going back to 48.4 and advancing from there be back far enough? Or would I be better off rerunning the entire ladder test just to be sure I don't miss the accurate load? I am not going to shoot any more of these at the load they are at right now. I have no qualms about pulling a few hundred bullets and reloading them to be on the side of safety. Thanks for any and all suggestions.
  20. Thats what a 300 Blackout is for. .308 bullet brought down to subsonic. Try it you'll like it. ^-^
  21. Once again it depends on the powder charge. If your rifle performs well on lighter charges you have more wiggle room to shorten the COAL and not run into pressure signs. That was my reasoning with trying to lengthen my bullets OAL. Seating farther out proportionally lowers the pressure as long as you aren't jamming the bullet into the lands. For comparison, the bullets in the opening post used Remington cases, 48.8 grains of CFE223, and the rifle liked the 2.815 length. I found that using Hornady 308 Match cases the rifle liked the 2.815 length even more (100 yard group covered by a quarter). Since then I've acquired about 2 gallons worth of LC brass and in that brass using the same Hornady 168 grain BTHP Match bullets the rifle is liking 47.5 grains as opposed to the 48.8 in my OP. I'm still tweaking the LC charge weight and then will tweak the OAL to see what happens then.
  22. Wash you asked what my rifle weighs and with an empty mag, scope, and sling its 10# 2oz. While I was waiting for the last of the parts to get here I weighed what I had. Barrel = 2# 8oz Criterion 18.5" lightweight profile from Fulton Armory Brake and washer = 4oz Bully Brake from Overkill Customs here in WI Upper & barrel nut = 1# 3oz 1st part of Aero enhanced upper combo 15" keymod handguard = 9 oz 2nd part of Aero enhanced upper combo BCG = 1# 6oz Aero NiB Stock, spring, buffer, & RE = 1# 3oz Pistol grip = 3oz LPK = 4oz Aero 308 LPK Total of these parts = 6# 12oz When I weighed these I was still waiting for the lower, and gas block to get here. The lower, scope, gas block, and sling account for the rest of the weight. My hunting is done from a tree stand, so what extra weight there is just holds it steadier when its resting on the gunrest rail of the stand. I'm glad your happy with how yours shoots. Considering this rifle is my first foray into .308 and building one from scratch I think I can be impressed with how I'm doing so far. Shooting any new weapon has a learning curve and I'm sure you are much farther along it than I am. Best of luck with what you shoot and what you shoot at.
  23. No I haven't. I don't have an oal gauge, but its something I should do.
  24. Check out Black Hole Weaponry. They can make one any way you want it and prices aren't outrageous.
  25. Check out my posts about my rifle. I used the 18.5" Criterion lightweight by Fulton and love it. I just posted my load development from the past 2 weeks in the reloading section and I can say I have been impressed.
