You do realize that you have broken the rules of AR building and have done it backwards! The .223 is supposed to come first then after realizing how fun and relatively easy it is then get the bug to venture into the un-milspec world of 308 ARs. All kidding aside, great job! Next is the .223, then a 300 Blackout, then for chits and giggles a Grendel, then...... you get the idea, they tend to multiply.

Just recently got her painted up. I forget its only an 8" barrel under the handguard with the 10" can. She is my sub gun that took a deer last year with a super.

How old is the barrel and who made it? I had the exact same thing happen to a 300 Blackout barrel that I was changing the muzzle device on and the general concensus on M4Carbine forum was that it wasn't worth the effort to try and retighten the barrel to the extension. It wasn't torqued correctly in the first place if it came loose and getting it re-torqued and having everything align perfectly is almost impossible. If the gas port was aligned with the old improperly torqued extension, how can it possibly be aligned if you get it torqued properly? I contacted the seller I bought the barrel from, explained what happened, sent them the barrel and extension for them to inspect and they sent me a new barrel. Might be worth a shot before anything alse.

The suppressor has a titanium tube and end caps so even high temp grill paint doesn't stick too well. I have a can of Aervoe Coyote brown from a project I never used it on and intended on stripping the suppressor and using it as a base coat over everything. Maybe I should strip the old black paint off the suppressor, repaint it with the same high temp black as a base coat then the Aervoe over it? How temperature resistant is Aervoe?

What is used to prep an AR to give the paint the best chance of staying on? I'm thinking of doing a camo job on my 300BLK SBR and suppressor that may or may not have grease/soot on surfaces to be painted.

I have one on my 300BLK SBR with an 8" barrel and so far it has worked great. I run it strictly suppressed and have it set to bleed off excess gas 26 clicks from fully closed when shooting 220-225 grain subs. I haven't tried restricting gas yet for shooting supers. Closed to 4 1/4 turns(17 clicks) is restricted zone. 4 1/2 turns(18 clicks) is fully open. 19-32 clicks is fully open + bleed off mode

My Aero 308 AR. M5E1 receiver set and 15" handguard, 18" Criterion lightweight barrel. As pictured with an empty mag she is right at 10 pounds.

Range brass is taking a hiatus for winter. There are people crazy enough to shoot in sub freezing temps and wade in 18" deep snow to their targets but they are too few and far between to support much in the way of accumulating inventory. Those of you who I am saving particular calibers for need not worry, I am still looking.
