  1. If you just took a 1/16" off the top I was gonna do that anyway..
  2. I have the Lee, but have seen the RCBS, flip a coin and pick one.
  3. I have a spare, I think it's an A, I don't need it. trade you for the B EDIT: yep I have a spare A, PM me your address
  4. It's angled for easy insertion once I run out of ammo.
  5. That's the smartest thing I did when I built mine.... I ordered the Armalite LPK. I figured that if anyone knew how to make the parts, they did.
  6. They ain't as crafty as them white tails.
  7. So I had an issue with my Buis and red dot. On my AR I had a perfect lower 1/3 co-witness. When I put almost the same set up on the KSG, the buis sight were barely a lower 1/8 co-witness. I researched and found a riser that was supposed to give an absolute co-witness on an AR. And with it installed it gave me a 1/4-1/3 co witness. For a shotgun I'm happy with this set-up. Now my task is to sight the slugs in at 50yards with the 200m setting on the Matech, and then find out how far I can reach up to with the 600m setting. My Fenix PD35 light is on the way, and I still haven't decided on a muzzle device and choke tube adapter. I do have a choice of Win-choke or Rem-choke for the adapter. I think I'm leaning toward Win-choke because the adapter is $25 less, and choke tubes are similarly priced.
  8. This is what I'm replacing.... I don't think it registers as lumens.... Maybe half a candle power...
  9. I did see the E35 which is the rechargeable version, but it was longer, and it just adds a usb port. I figured it would look odd having my shotgun plugged into the computer... I plan on having a couple spares in the grip. Yeah the Lumens on this one is ridiculous, I think it has 5 settings that the flashlight will remember when you turn it on next time. I think I would only use the max setting if I was using it handheld with a pistol. I just got it for the price of one of the lower lumen models, I was looking at the PD32, which maxes at 340 lumens. If I don't run across another "deal" I'm looking at that model for the other two I may get. The Fenix flashlights seem to be pretty highly regarded, and the price for features seems to be just a little better than the closest competitor.
  10. So I picked up a Kel-tec KSG and I wanted to add a flashlight to it..... Holy crap! there are entire forums dedicated to flashlights, and a whole range of prices and options and battery options! There are some serious flashlight nerds out there.... I just want to put a light on my damn weapon! So I weeded out the nonsense, and got way more flashlight than I needed with a rechargeable Lithium Ion batterie, and the charger. The light I found was a Fenix PD35. It can take two of those short camera batteries (like a midget AA) OR these newer ones that are the same size as the two short ones. It has 960 Lumens, which from what I'm reading you really only need a couple hundred to blind an intruder. I got the package used off Ebay for about $20 less than the light by itself, with no batteries. I had narrowed the initial search down to the Fenix and a Streamlight before I stumbled upon the ebay auction. I had added a $4 flashlight mount to an Amazon order a couple weeks ago and it turns out it looks like an NcStar, and is actually pretty nice, so I ordered a couple more on my next order. I will receive the light next week, so I'll give you the full rundown... If I like it, I will add two more to my tacticool AR's. So without getting too nerdy, what do you guys use/like?
  11. Rifle brass.... Clean, Resize/deprime, trim, hand prime, then reload. Pistol brass.... maybe clean, chuck in a progressive.....
  12. I own 3 Primary arms products, 2 advanced Red dots and the 4-14 ACSS reticle. I'm very happy with the quality for the money. If I was better at math I'd do the Mil-reticle thing. BUT, The clarity on my Nikon P223 really blew the 4-14 out of the water. IF I didn't already have the PA scope on my 308 I'd be looking at the Nikon. I have seen and fiddled with some of the expensive Lepould scopes in the LGS but haven't shot one. I did own a Weaver Alaskan at one time but traded it off with the rifle it was on.... :'(
  13. I thought the whole point of "service rifle" classes were to keep the rifle as close to "as issued" as possible. Not just to make poop up.
  14. Sounds like a very open classification, it should be easy to duplicate.
  15. It's not an AR10.. see I was paying attention since I joined here...
  16. I'm not sold on "directional" sights. If you are off one, two or three clicks, it's bassackwards or sideways. Maybe it looks cool in Facebook photos.
  17. I have had more than a couple Kel Tec's that I really liked, The PF9 single stack 9mm, and the P3AT .380 pistol were reliable, but not special enough to hold on to. My Seecamp replaced them both. My followers and selector switch came in today from SMT Tactical today, the quality looks to be very good, the swtich does seem to be a bit on the large side, but that's what Belt sanders are for.... Matech backup sight is here too, and I'm expecting the front sight later today.
  18. Absolutely true, this set is supposedly the same as the Ruger. I wonder how the problem was tackled in the production model?
  19. And, do you need to toss a few quarters in the receiver extension?
  20. A couple more videos made that day... https://youtu.be/BpbrxAjtH8g https://youtu.be/3P1OphIOLyU
  21. Why does it burn when I pee?
  22. It's an AR10A with about 1/16" taken off the top. Without the modification the bolt will contact the catch, and prevent cycling. A 10B catch won't hold open on an empty mag. I fixed mine with a belt sander.
  23. Nice build! I also love how you get to pay extra to insure the package against their negligence. I have wanted to jump a counter a time or two.
  24. Unlimited in NM, but I only need 2 in the spring, and one in the fall....
  25. It shoots where I look, so it fits my criteria for a turkey gun. The only issue with adding a choke adapter is adding 2" for the adapter and basic choke tube. but it looks like most turkey tubes are extended another 1" or so.
