  1. I wonder if it will be the same hefty 34MM tube? At $3,100.00 (+) MSRP it aint cheap.
  2. Absolutely brilliant ...
  3. Looks great to me
  4. Welcome from Gulf Coast Texas. Enjoy the site and your time here.

Supposedly there is (or was) a range out that way that went out to 500+ yds. but I don't know the name of that neither. Really wasn't a range actually but some land a rice farmer allowed folks to shoot on. Anyone could shoot there but you had to bring your own stand, etc., and it was only known by word of mouth. There's a 200 yard range nearby in Channelview, or there was one before Harvey. I haven't been back out there since. Might go check on that one this week.

No but I'd like to go there if I can ever figure out where it is.

  9. Same here ... exactly the same. Only because I've caught her in the act of it and told her to make a note of where she put something so I'll know where to look for it. Locked her right up too
  10. That looks damn nice. Good job again. Thanks for sharing it all with us.
  11. Yes indeed I do appreciate this contribution.
  12. Nice gun
  13. A .308 Dissy is my next project. Been planning it for a while.
  14. Nice gun there. I like the use of A1 and A2 stocks as I think they look better. I built the one above as a copy of an actual special order Colt once done for a LEO agency that used the collapsable stock. Go ahead and finish your's out. Easier to ask for forgiveness than it is for permission. Yes indeed the LR-308 Dissy is going to be a bit more expensive but that is to be expected with the .308
  15. Thanks gents for the feedback. Hopefully I'll have an initial range report by the end of the week. This one is sort of a warm-up for the .308 version I hope to have done by the end of this year.
  16. Thank you. I wish I had known about the rare original Colt version before they sold out. Found out about them about 4 days too late.
  17. Thank you. Hopefully I'll get a good range day by Friday.

  19. A2 Dissipator I just finished based on the Colt A2 Dissipator sold by CDNN a few years back. Too bad I missed out on that purchase. Upper Assembly:The barrel is a new Double Star med. weight Dissipator chrome-lined barrel with 1-9" twist on a contract (non-marked) new A2 upper. This is a mock dissy that uses a carbine length gas tube. I used a titanium low profile gas block at the gas port and a clamp-on non F-marked A2 front sight offered by Fulton Armory as the faux front sight. I cut a section of a pistol length gas tube to use in the faux gas block that runs in to the hand guard a couple of inches to stabilize it. I'm currently using an extended A2 front sight post pending 100 yard sight-in. I used a gas block quick disconnect sling adapter sold by GGG in Tucson. I simply need to attach the proper piece on the stock. Currently I have an original 3-prong flash hider on this but it will be changed to an original-type A2 piece. The bolt catch is an enhanced Seekins unit.Lower Assembly:Colt Sporting Rifle lower with a Fostech Echo trigger. This will be the first time I try one of these triggers and I'm looking forward to the first range day with it this week. The buffer tube is a new Colt 4 position piece with a Spikes Tactical carbine spring and T-2 buffer. The lower parts kit is a standard LPK from Spikes Tactical also.Although the original Colt piece used black furniture I used the standard furniture in green that I had as spares to finish this off. Hopefully this will be a great go-to carbine to carry around in the truck. The longer sight distance will be much easier on my older eyes.
  20. +1 ^^^^^^^ on the Condor / Voodoo / Draco cases, especially those that come with the removable mag pouches.
  21. Nothing wrong with it the way it is IMHO
  22. More of the same from the Witch: http://sonsoflibertymedia.com/34-year-old-journalist-investigating-hillary-clinton-found-dead-months-later-still-no-autopsy-report/
  23. So if I understand you right this scope is mostly for the upper echelon slower precision shooting than anything else (so far), right? I guess that makes sense. More for controlled precision intended at a slower rate of fire. Try it slow both with and without a suppressor next and see what happens.
  24. Thank you as this is the review I've been waiting for. Interesting review. Going to be even more interesting when you get it on the AR10. Please provide updates if you find anything out of the ordinary with the Matrix you had it on. Sounds like you definitely got the best mount.
  25. LOL ... don't get too used to it. Sometime over the weekend we'll be back up in the 90(s) ... and the mosquitoes will be back in full force too.
