I just got a set of these in and I am 100% pleased with them as far as height goes. Once all the rain and nonsense passes I'll have the scope mounted to it and headed to the range.

Thank you for the recommendation and information. For $129.00 I think it's more than worth a try. I've got a 45-70 also and yes I do believe if it can handle that recoil it can definitely handle the .308 for sure.

The only problem with EoTech is the hologram fades in bright sunlight too much. Even at the highest setting it fades to where it's not functional. We had them on our M4(s) for the longest but about 6 months before I retired we finally went to the Aimpoints. I've got the Aimpoint PRO on mine and I have no complaints whatsoever. Even in the brightest sun you can still se the dot. If these go on sale again I'll buy another for the AR10.

I'm not sure just exactly what the communist state of Illinois does for a BG check. It may be the same as a NIICS check but I'm not sure. Remember this is the state (i.e. because of Chicago and racist/communist mayor Rham Emanuel mostly) that tried to prohibit handgun permits until they were hit by the Heller decision like DC was. They lost. I think at one point they tried to outlaw handgun ownership totally (again like DC) but the Heller lawsuit stopped that too. Now folks there can get carry permits and I'm sure their criminal history is checked. From my understanding all firearm purchases have to be completed by the successful completion of a NIICS check also, so you get checked when you buy the firearm(s) and if you apply for a carry permit you get checked when you go through that. In this funky place (Illinois) you have to get a Firearms Owner ID card which also requires a check to buy firearms AND ammo and of course that requires a NIICS or similar check too with each individual purchase (I may be wrong on this). No FOID card - no ammo, etc. Left wing nut and lunatic Bloomberg was trying to establish this as a model for the entire nation and was willing to spend a fortune to do it. Hasn't worked in Texas yet and many other places. If you have a LTC in Texas you don't have to go through another NIICS check when you buy a firearm and/or related item(s) but if you don't have the LTC you have to have a NIICS check done whenever you purchase a firearm however this doesn't apply to ammo, etc.,

This is what I understand also. Every hunter, shooter, etc., has to have one in order to simply make the purchases. Crazy.

Glad I still have my original factory wood grips for my model 586 and 65. I've got Pachmayers on both but I saved my factory grips. I never get rid of any of those factory parts.

Like with Seattle's tax ... all the FOID card program and NIICS program does is provide another group of funds for the lawmakers to raid as they see fit. All this stuff is nothing but another scam.

I find it very interesting that this happens only a short time after the POTUS publicly stated we will not be discussing gun control AND is timed on the day that informal hearings are scheduled to be held on the HPA bill(s).
