reckon it's personal preference. 90% of my barrels are ARP melonite treated. i clean for copper until it's broken in and the patches on the first pass show no copper, i know over time it will come back tho. 2 - 3 patches with CLP, couple of dry patches, a patch with denatured alcahol to remove the CLP, Eliminator copper remover until no more blue on the patch, another alcahol patch. heavy CLP patch the a bore mop...ok, i'm anal about this LOL but it's what i do and it keeps me busy and out of trouble

i use a 5" Wilton, good old vise

i have a couple of gallons of the older USGI CLP with the teflon, slicker than owl snot. i put 3 coats on prior to a build on all the parts, then assemble. i use it on bores after firing, i have mostly melonite treated barrels, i run more copper removing patches than i do for carbon removal. usually 3 for carbon and maybe 15 or so for the copper, wipe all surfaces down with a light coat of the CLP. i get the stuff when the Guard cycles and want to throw it away. back in my M14 days oil was for cleaning everything but the bore, bore cleaner followed by oil, but all moving parts we used Lubriplate light grease, the op rod got a thin coat, the bolt roller got a heavier coating, the bolt lug and it's channel got a medium coat, the trigger group got a light oiling. the gas piston was only cleaned and run dry. i still have several cans of the Standard Oil of New Jersey light gun oil in the olive drab cans.

hello, i built an AR15 using 2 Juggernaut uppers - a 5.56 and a 6.8, and built a Juggernaut lower. be aware you may run into some difficulty with their gear. other lowers will not fit the uppers in the AR15 versions, altho Juggernaut claims "milspec". the only pistol grip that would fit without alot of filing, carving, screwing around with is DPMS. you may also need shims to "clock" the rails. also the rails do not true up with the upper, i.e. both rails were an RCH proud of the upper. that being said, they do produce beautiful machine work,,,just be aware you may need to do some smithing to make it all work and look good,,,and from what i experienced all of their stuff is proprietary even tho they claim "milspec". perhaps the AR10 is different. I disassembled everything built using Juggernaut except the lower and sold it all. for the price you pay you could use Mega Arms and have money left over,,,an inexpensive Anderson lower will fit all my AR15 Mega uppers. just a heads up, your mileage may vary

i'll likely build another with rails, but this is what i wanted for this one. i have a PA10 (one of the rare ones that runs fine) with that barrel and it shoots straight. a railed one i think i'd want the 20" Mega Arms barrel. but for long shooting (which i likely won't do) i have a 20" 6.8 that shoots 10 round ragged holes about the size of a quarter using 3x9 glass

LOL the buzzing ain't funny but the Randall quote would be justice
-
that's an AR15 handle, the AR10's cover the rail,,,but for 30 dollars i'm content with it. it ain't going to the prom LOL

yep, that's #1 Randall like i had, mine had stag grips tho, and different marks on the blade. seems it was a crescent scimatar looking thing, but it's been long ago. i don't recall it having "randall" on it anywhere. sure wish i still had it

i kept extending my tour cause i knew if i rotated back home they'd send me back in 6 months, i was a heathen by that time and didn't want to put up with stateside Corps BS Hastings was the first operation up around the DMZ, i went back to DaNang about 2 months after it ended and talked the Master Gunnery Sergeant into sending me back up to Dong Ha, spent the next almost 2 years in all those quaint little places that have bad reputations, the Rockpile, Camp Carroll, Gio Lin, the Razor Back, Quang Tri, Con Thien, Khe Sanh (only once), up and down Route 9. wasn't in the bush often. only bad thing about being sent back up was i had no command structure locally, dang near starved to death, or so it felt. had an ARVN battalion up there, they would trade their weapons for a case of C's, i had an M2 carbine for awhile, a Gunner i knew traded for a grease gun. KaBar's were worth a bottle of Jim Beam to the Air Force dudes that ran the airstrip at Dong Ha. i managed to "liberate" enough C rations to survive...but i was hungry all the time it seemed
