Not the van anymore it is the drones. If I see a Hellfire hanging from it, I have real problems.

I am still baffled, the moderators did not like my opinions of our illustrious former President Barrack Hussein Obama. I spoke of no violence no anarchy against Barry. Just told it like it was about Barry and the hiding of his true intentions and beliefs. I have also been banned from The New York Times, Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle. I probably shouldn't comment on politics here or will probably end up in the land of banishment. Like that wretched Hillary says, I am irredeemable and deplorable.

Those S&W Shield are a nice conceal gun. My 2nd son has a Glock 43 that is snappy as hell. S&W 9mm is pretty tame compared to the Glock. Couldn't go wrong with rebate price.

From the AZ also. You get kicked of AR15.com also?

To reach out farther, with the 15" handguard you get really good eye relief with iron sights. So say 300-400 yards is the 18" gonna be any different than a 20"? I do have several excess 16" AR's. But with today's fire sales on AR's the excess isn't worth much. 20" was the old standard for rifle length, probably go that way. Guess I can get a 3rd gun safe.

Have Carbine and Mid-length AR-15's. Planning on getting a rifle length AR-15. 18" or 20" barrel? The 20" picks up about 100 fps if am correct. What do you rifle aficionados' think, 18" or 20"? One better than the other or just preference. Both would have a 15" free floating handguard.

This just talking about stripped upper and lowers. If you look at the material used it is almost always the same, 7075 T-6 aluminum. So we have the same material machined by a computer programmed setup. I would have to believe the computer programs are very similiar or almost exact for the internal dimensions. If a person where to look at the parts with no company engraving, how many could tell the difference or identify the manufacturer, 90%? 50%? 10%? Barrels are more or less the same material at all manufactures. The high end barrels receive a more hands on finish than the run of mill barrel. That would be the price difference in most cases I would assume. BCG probably fall in the same category. So if I would do a build and go all out on a barrel and BCG and go cheap on the rest would that be wise?

Damn, AR15 and AR 308/7.62 pricing really getting distressed out there from the lower and mid- priced companies. But that is good.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

1000 rds 9mm in the aluminum case. The reviews I see on the web say it is ok for range. $8.99 a box at PSA -
I take it this shootfest is held south of Phoenix near the town of Maricopa. Must be close to the I-8 and the drug mule trails. How many attend this fest and you got some attendees flying in.

Yes, Re-arranged the mounts to forum specs. I thought I had some top grade 308 in ammo cans but all I had was the Hirtenberger and Winchester 7.62. Shooting with glasses or no glasses with a scope is a crap shoot. Finally used glasses since most of my shades were scratched. Getting the proper relief on scope with glasses wasn't always easy.
-
Definitely no sarcasm allowed here. Anyway another 100 rounds thru a PSA. After sighting in the scope, that took about 10 rounds, this was my 5 round bunch at 100 yds. Used Hirtenberger 7.62 and a 3" target. Have great respect for real long range shooters. The crosshairs moved with my pulse. After that I banged away with iron sights.

Isn't it obvious I put all that stuff on wrong just for demostrational purposes. Anyway, all is mounted to spec now. Will range report when I shoot the thing, good or bad. Will compare some cheap ammo 147 gr with the match grade 168 gr ammo. I always thought forums liked pictures of their rigs.

Hey I have the same one. Fun shooter. Have you done anything optically to it?

I called Springfield and the sites on the standard M1A will not work on the SOCOM model of the M1A. Springfield told me to look at after market iron sights maybe or a red dot. I am not knocking the rifle, I should have considered option before hand. Great rifle to shoot, it is a blast, literally. I could scope it from the stripper clip location, but that is another can of worms. The forward mounted red dot is kinda funky to use, some people really love that set up. The Standard M1A is great with irons. I would take a safe full of M1's any day. Here is the exact quote from Michael B at Springfield customer service "we really don't have another sight than what ships out on the rifle(SOCOM). You might want to try Brownells, Midway USA, and Cheaper Than Dirt for different iron sight." If anyone has a idea out there let me know.

I was using a panaflex reflective 2.6x79.8 lenses on the camera. That is the reason the the mounts appear backwards. More or less mirror image.

I am trying a subliminal message to convert all readers to PSA. Just bought a lot of stock in it today.

Here is a PSA 308/7.62 with the scope. Will range it Sunday. Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44 $299 for the discontinued Vortex model. Scope really spots well. I guess a Nightforce Scope would really be the thing.

Wanted a AR platform 308 to go along with the M1A's in my inventory. I could get anything, but decided to go cheap. Got a PSA AR308. Have $770 in the rifle. Added a Daniels Defense stock for $66, just for the look. Magpul grip $35. Magpul flips ups front and rear $85. To see how accurate it can really shoot I got a discontinued Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44 scope for $299. A set of Nikon 30mm rings for $40. Have 1500 rounds through it using just the iron/plastic sights with zero problems. Will check out the rifle with scope next weekend. If I really like the AR308 platform I can upgrade to a pricey rifle later. Having the 15" handguard really improves the iron sight use. Well anyway, whatever you get it will work just fine.
