  1. Riflespeed gas block. Should come in tomorrow.
  2. Just got an email back from JP. "Yes, it's a DPMS pattern. Enjoy!" Hope this helps somebody going forward. Seems like a decent bag of spares for the price.
  3. Yeah, that "additional reinforcement" sits inside the BCG gas key channel and helps to keep the upper from rotating while tightening or loosening the barrel nut. If there is a lot of slop in your upper, you can add some paper or tape to the tool to shim the channel and prevent movement. They work awesome. Highly recommend.
  4. I've put together many, many small frame uppers and the only time I've had an issue is when I pulled apart my dad's DPMS upper to change the handguard. I have the Brownell's tool, but the barrel would twist while tightening the barrel nut and cause enough misalignment that the BCG wouldn't go into battery. I got it lined up after a few tries. Not sure why, the pin looked a little buggered, but not too bad (DPMS OEM upper) and the pin slot looked fine too. There was just enough tolerance stacking that the barrel would twist. That M.I. wrench is better, but not sure it would solve my issue. I have the M.I. small frame tool and it does seem to hold things tighter.
  5. Thanks for the info. The round part faces the breech?
  6. The cam pin that came with the "kit" from JP has the flat shoulder. There is nothing on the package about it being high pressure.
  7. Is this: https://jprifles.com/buy.php?item=BC-PINS-308 compatible with the DPMS pattern? I would be using in a Stag lefty. I ordered and was looking at the parts. The firing pin is a smidge different length, but pin protrusion looks the same. The cam pin is a bit different. One edge is flat.
  8. This is a pretty great deal if anybody is looking to build a Stag...or a lefty. https://www.stagarms.com/stag-sales/stag-s-weekend-upper-sale.html
  9. Yeah that is the Hornady Lock'N'Load adapter. It will just unthread once you loosen the lock ring. If you like the quick change idea, many presses can be adapted to take those. I converted my RCBS Rock Chucker.

    WY 308'ers?

I'm in Sheridan. Anybody around Wyoming? Southern MT?
  11. I think I saw one over on the arfcom classifieds (sorry)
  12. Well, Stag fixed it quick. Got the CORRECT lefty upper this evening via FedEx. Once I get my ambi charging handle, I'll slap it together and maybe even have a pic.
  13. You haven't had any issues with it gassing you?
  14. Saw this and thought I would share. No idea if it's a good deal, but Stag says it is. https://www.stagarms.com/stag-10-18-in-0-308-barrels-chrome-phos-stag400005.html
  15. Just to let you know, I was looking at one today and apparently it vents the gas to the right side...into a Lefty's face. Thanks for looking out though.
  16. Stag emailed and said I should get the correct upper on Monday. Hope so! Got a Raptor charging handle coming from Joe Bobs. They were the cheapest with the military discount, and it was actually in stock. The upper was actually a great deal: buy any upper and get a free BCG.
  17. Picked up my "blem" lower today. Can't see a thing wrong with it. Pretty sweet for $99. Now just waiting for Stag to get the correct upper sent to me....
  18. Oddly enough, the box is marked lefty, just has the wrong upper in it.
  19. The upper shipped quickly and arrived this morning. Looks great, except it's a righty upper LOL. Emailed Stag to get a shipping label and exchange. I'll update again when that happens. The lower should be at my FFL on Monday.
  20. Yeah, I tried a few different charging handles as well. Just wasn't doing enough.
  21. I have an 18" lefty .308 upper coming from Stag. Plan on Building one of their blem lowers to finish it. While I love my PWS MK216, I get so much gas to face during suppressed shooting that I don't like shooting it. Anybody have much trigger time on the "new" Stag .308 rifles? More specifically the lefty version?
  22. Okay, finally made it to the range today. Shot Magtech “sniper” 168gr and Saltech ball. It shoots so much nicer now! Suppressed I was able to turn the gas down to the middle position.
  23. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but I installed a Colt forged receiver extension, Strike Industries flat wire spring and Brownell's rifle buffer. I think it feels nicer and it doesn't grab my beard. Hoping to get to the range in the next week or two.
  24. I'm going to just swap to a rifle extension. I'll send this setup back and use the Magpul MOE rifle stock I have sitting here. KAK sells weights individually, so I'm going to order a selection to be able to tune this thing. Brownells has their 308 buffer on sale right now too. If I have issues, I'll just install the PWS buffer and spring. I have a spacer for this to work. Just thinking the rifle setup would smooth things out more.
  25. I got the fixed carbine stock and extended butt pad on today. LOP is still a bit too short. I think I want to just mount the MOE rifle stock. It feels like a good length. Just need to figure out with buffer and spring to use.
