Wow! Our medics definitely weren't that way. Sounds like it was mostly helpful with what you guys were doing.

I've got a set of the Peltor Comtac with comms (pricey) and Sordin supreme pro x. I usually use the Sordin at the range. Since moving, I haven't found a group to train with and haven't needed comms.

1. At basic we were issued these strange flanged ear plugs with an insertion tool. I'm not sure what they were called. Very uncomfortable, and guys would accidentally push them too far in. 2. When I went to Tikrit, Iraq with the Big Red One, we were issued the 3M plugs that 3M knew didn't work and now are getting a massive lawsuit brought before them. 3. I never got into a gun fight, but we had indirect attacks every day. Nobody had time to put earpro in, we were too busy running for the "bunkers". 4. I don't know about Armor specific operations. I do know they parked an Abrams next to the DFAC for a few weeks and fired scheduled H&I fire. I'm sure the guys would be smart enough to protect their ears during that. It's VERY loud.

Thanks. I've got a bag of gas keys as spares for my AR-15's and wanted to know if they fit my Stag 10.

I did a few searches and couldn't come up with anything. Is the LR308/DPMS pattern BCG gas key the same as the AR-15 BCG gas key?

I haven't really slept since I got back from Iraq. I have a sleep machine which helped. I also take CBD (no THC) and melatonin before bed.

Took a bit to figure out the scope which uses 1/10 MIL adjustments! Good excuse to burn up crap ammo though. Suppressed it's such a sweetheart to shoot.

That's interesting. I don't think I've ever heard about impressive accuracy from a FAL. I'm guessing yours shoots well? I know the Army designated marksmen I worked around weren't super impressed with their "accurized" M14's. Maybe the civilian builds are more accurate?

I'm not sure any of those point are invalid. You have to be cautious of the M1A boys. They get super cranky about any criticism of that platform. My identity doesn't come from a firearm, so I don't feel the need to defend them.

Got it out to shoot yesterday. Had a great time. Haven't been to the range since I moved to WY in Aug. Shooting that crap demilled headstamp euro 7.62x51. My dad gave me a bag of it some time ago. Quite a few corroded. For the most part it shot ok. Maybe 2-2.5" groups. Had a few failure to return to battery. I think due to the burr left from machining the headstamp. Got my riflespeed gas block adjusted. Love that gasblock. Banging steel at 300 was beyond easy.

Which BCG are you using? Verified the gas keys screws aren't broken/loose?

All my Sig pistols have shipped with that as the preferred grease/lube. I liked it when I used it. I haven't used it on any AR bolts though.
