Gunsite has banned the 320 for civvies, LEO and govt folks can still bring them to class and expose their classmates to injury or death though. I think if you are PAYING for a class you should be allowed to schedule a class where the 320 is not present anywhere that a bullet could hit you. And WE the taxpayers bought all of those guns that now must be replaced in order to not kill any more of our service people and LEO than they have already. Sig kept on lying in order to sell more before the balloon finally popped. Maybe somebody can make a safer polymer 80 type frame to use some of the parts that will hit the market once these guns are scrapped. Meanwhile the Sig fans that loved those $69 magazines keep on defending the company. "They only lied about the one defective model. all their other stuff is GREAT".

At this point here I do not see how nay agency or private company can continue to use the guns in question. Whoever pays the bills when they get sued for NOT mitigating the hazard by scrapping those guns and replacing them is going to demand that they do so. A gun that just goes off at random times is one of the worst things I can think of. made and sold by a company that denied the issue and while they were busy denying it departments were buying MORE of these guns that are now scrap.

One really common issue to look at right off the bat is the gas tube length. Many threads about it here, not just PSA either lots of other MFG put the gas block in the wrong place so that the AR15 gas tube they use ends up too short. That can be fixed a couple ways. Bill

I HAVE a PSA Gen 2 lower I bought complete shipped for $149.99, I will not buy another. I'd suggest crying once and buying an Aero Precision M5. That is if you know about yourself that you will want to buy or build other uppers. The PSA may be fine if your the type of person that will just buy one complete rifle, and or you are totally happy with the caliber list that PSA has decided to offer. Most of us here are NOT that person ;-). I do think the PSA on daily deal offers like I got for 149.99, magpul and EPT shipped for $149.99 is a great deal for the folks that as I said above will not be lusting for any of the dozen or more really cool calibers. PSA just recently however HAS sold some bare uppers...just the assembled upper with forward assist and ejection port door, that was the one part the upper builders like us needed. I think I have one that I tungstened up, but thinking to try it in this case as is and see if bolt locks back with the BCA BCG, run some rounds that way to let it break in a bit.

Yea that was my first thought, the barrel length. Myself I’d lean to what is in stock. Most hunting is actually humping yourself and the gun to your spot. I also have this 3.6oz buffer NIW and thought about giving it a try with the BCA BCG. The BCA BCG and my Toolcraft BCG that runs and locks back on empty both weigh the same.

The buffer tube is 7” deep. Same lower I started into AR308 stuff in this thread here.

Kind of an older topic but I just grabbed one of these uppers on sale for $249 including BCG and CH. Swapped in the Armalite gas tube. Running Sprinco Orange and 5.4oz buffer. Gas port measures .08”. Using PA10 gen II PSA lower. Runs and locks back with a spare Toolcraft BCG I have but will not lock back with the BCA BCG, will run tho. Dunked the BCG in Mobile one 0-20. So far have fired 20 rounds of a 40 pack of 50 grain rem umc HP ammo I snagged at mao mart. Working on getting mounts around for Vortex crossfire II 6x18x45. The brown truck dropped off 100 new 22-250 cases and some 55 grain soft point with cannalure today. Have some CFE223 so intending to load some of that up and try that before thinking about drilling gas port. Just using a garden variety PMAG for initial testing but a SD Rifles 22-250 mag showed up today too. Bill

I have never tried it yet but have always thought that a spring, or an air cylinder might work to help keep backlash in all one direction for light cuts anyway.

Picked up a 500 pack of blem Sierra 80 grain Blitz from Powder Valley...they should work well in this setup. They give up a bit of BC to the 87 VMAX but at 300 yards that works out to another 1.5" of wind drift in a 10mph so no big deal....well it is always a "deal" but I can live with it LOL for 20 cent bullets.

OAL was 2.710" with 87 vmax.

Lubed everything really well, not submerge in a vat of mobil 1 well, but poour on the CLP well :-). Started with gas port at .07....first round was in a fire formed case and at 44.0 of H4350 and an 87 vmax, bolt locked back. Tried 45.0, and 46.0...saw a bit of ejector mark at 46 so just held there for now. QL says 55468 PSI at 46 but of course that is all theoretical. Tried 3 rounds in mag at .07 and did not feed. went up in sizes roughly .005 at a time .076 .081 At .086 fire forming rounds feed and eject 100%....not throwing them far but feeding and ejecting. Theory with fire forming is that some velocity is lost forming the case. Rounds loaded in fire formed brass eject with a bit more velocity on the ejected brass. I am going to run it there for a bit and see. Did not setup crono, was not trying super hard for accuracy but 5 shot groups were looking like MOA or so. 1/2 gallon milk jug was at 75 yards and half milk and half water, bullet impact made a heck of a WACK :-).

Got contour done. Did not get fancy with any tapers, ended up 2lbs 7oz so 7oz heavier than the Faxon 18" pencil Next is gas port, I bought a 5C indexer and ordered a tailstock to match it so that should be here tmw maybe.

I would only consider it if you were going to buy a matching PSA lower and pretty much just have that one gun. Otherwise IMHO I'd suggest sticking with stuff that is not proprietary. My first was an assembled Gen 2 PSA lower at a cheap daily deal price, but so far I was only able to find a stripped Gen I upper to build onto. Stripped uppers are shown on their website but never avail as far as I have seen. Bill

One issue that happens with steel is a flaw of some kind that was in the original poured billet. That billet gets rolled out into bar stock and the flaw will often be present in every bar of steel rolled out of that billet. At a prior employer we made some fairly large parts out of 4140 pre heat treat which is typically 28-32 rockwell hardness. Parts maybe 24" diameter with a LOT of cnc lathe and mill work on them. Far more than once partway through the process they would find cracks in the parts being machined. A pistol smith I know used to make a lot of 1911 muzzle brakes, again 4140 pre heat treat steel. He had a half dozen of them that he had a lot of hours into and a crack showed up after bluing, it was in the same exact area on each brake because that flaw ran throughout the whole bar of stock he had purchased. The only other thing I could throw out there as a "maybe" is that some people have seen tighter headspace with Bolts that have some kind of plating on them. Honestly it should not be enough for a round to not chamber though.

Oh yea I bought the NOE expander plugs too .460, .459, .458, and .457. They refer to them differently but that is the actual bullet shank sizing portion dia of the ones I got. They drop into a Lee expander body.
