thanks...It functions great but I am concerned with the upper and lower being polymer. Guess time will tell but until then it was cheap enough to play with
-
haven't found what it likes yet. Still shooting cheap stuff to break it in. But it groups the cheap 150 grain Aguila hollow point well at 50 . I was just playing and had 4 inch groups. Shot maybe 6 inch at 100 with the sightmark ultra red dot. Its going to be a truck gun and home protection so that's good enough for me. I have ran 150 rounds through it and only malfunction I have had was a swelled piece of brass stuck in the barrel and one was loaded and when I was empying it so I could clean a bullet pulled out of the brass and stuck in the barrell. Other than that all is well so far. Now I need to pick out what I want to run. I have no intention to run a can so what I have been reading for what I want to do with it is 120-125 hollow point should do the job for two legged threats.

so my new Ati Omni Hybrid. It had a sightmark Ultra Shot plus red dot on but the qd lever broke. Waiting for that replacement part in the mail now

being as I am from NC . Local law says its required for weapon to be unloaded. ( no ammo in chamber or attached mag ) and not required but definitely preferred for rifle to be in a case of some sort. Soft case is fane. This last is asked as if its within reach and not in sight it can be considered concealed. I have a concealed carry license but that is only for handgun, which I am always carrying. Also if you carry a sidearm in the woods and lets say your coveralls are over the handgun you better have a concealed carry license. Had a game warden cite me for that and had me in cuffs when the sherriff pulled up and ask did he need help. Game warden said yes he need a transport for me. Long story short Game warden wasn't up to date on his laws as he didn't recognize the CCL I handed him. He said that was not good in a hunting situation and I was not allowed to carry concealed while hunting. Judge seen that differently and required game warden to be retrained.

now I have to goggle how to replace the trigger myself.
-
so yall talked me into this. Thetaken. Cant wait Larue mbt 2s has been ordered as of 10 minutes ago and they told me 5 weeks back order since the sale is so well
-
thanks for the offer....doubt it would be an issue. I have an ar15 in 300 blackout with a so so trigger so either way it would go somewhere. . Might just order the Larue and install it myself and put a pof in my 300 blackout. Just kinda hard to spend that amount on a truck gun beater.
-
searching here is what brought the Larue in the game for me....had not heard of this trigger before and it doesn't come up in a google search when I started searching top rated triggers for my PSA......I just am a research freak before I drop my funds. That and the POF is twice the price but man what a great trigger, I would love to pull thr trigger a few times on a Larue but cant find one local
-
OK so I have a PSA pa 10 in 308. I am debating a trigger as I hate the factory trigger. I have it down to two different ones. The Larue MBT 2 stage or the POF single stage. I have no experience with the Larue as I cant find one local to try. Now the POF I have had in my hand and it breaks extremely clean at 3,5 lbs. Like glass with zero creep. Local gun store took one out of box and installed it in his ar so I could try it. I have had before a 2 stage and most my rifles now have single stage. I know they each have pros and cons. I am asking if anyone has experience with both or either and what are your impressions? Oh and this is going to be a hunting rifle if that makes a dofference.

What made you decide to move to the 308 AR/AR-10 Platform?
painterman replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
why? I say why not?...actually its my 4th ar. 3 in ar15 platform with two of those shooting 30 cal ammo. 1 is 30 rem ar and the other is 300 black out . Love all 3 but just wanted a bit mmore bang plus new to me hunting land is offering up tom 600 yard shots and none of the above fit the bill. So I went shopping and found my 308. Love it and may also get a complete upper in another caliber, Thinking 6.5. Who knows -
yeah been here a little while...month or so any ways

joined up a few minutes ago and said hello...same name and all

ok so I came across this while trying to figure out which mine was...seems the gen 1 and gen two uppers are slightly different in aperance. The first pic is a gen 1 and the second pic is a gen 2. At least from the forum I found this on . Sorry I tried to copy and paste the the original thread /group but it wouldn't let me paste it hear. And yes I realise this is a 2 year old thread but I was looking and figured someone else might lok also.....hope it helps

thanks every body.....going to be a couple weeks as I am having a hard time finding any 168's in my area. That and money is tight as all I have extra right now is tied up a hog hunting coming up. I have found many 150's and a lot of 180's at local big box stores and have a local ammo store ( Acme Bullet Company ) in Graham NC making me a mixed box of 163 I think it was up to 168. He said 5 groups of 4 rounds making 20 all together and hes charging me $20. I can live with that . If I find a great round in those I wil get load data from him and get a die to reload them myself....again thanks for all the info...its a learning curve for me
-
not arguing here......I know quality cost....and if I cant get it going good I have ost very little as I have a friend wants it for what I have in it.....no harm no foul right.....this is a learning adventure and at the time it was very cheap. Every other 308 ar was double or more to buy. I have no interest in building as that's just not my thing. Also at the same time have no problems paying for a built rifle either. My 556 is a frankinstined rifle with more parts makers than I can speak of and is a tack driver. I didn't build it. A friend of mine did and then needed money. Its here if he wants it back for what I gave him for it. I got it for what he had in parts so again no harm no foul.
-
this is actually good news for me. My other three ar's all have the hogue grip with the palm swell.....I just shoot better with it on there. Dp I have to order a special hogue or does the grip come one size fits all so to speak?
-
Dude that's what I wanted was a R25...I have the R15 in 30 rem ar....love that rifle, but the R25's I found were way out of my price range plus I got real lucky and picked the PA 10 up for 500 bucks
-
it is...unfired when I got it and I have only put 60 rounds down the pipe...two shots and swab barrell….let it cool and two more...every 20 break down and cean,,,,may be over kil but its the way I was taught...

Mcleansville NC here....just joined the group so looking forward to this rifle

well I am running the Pa 10 308 and am getting 6 inch groups with 150 grain federal fusion. I guess the rifle doesn't like them. Thinking about stepping up to 168's. any suggestions are appreciated as if a this doesn't work I will make the next step and get this thing to a Gun Smith. Rifle was unfired gen 11 when I bought it with a cheap scope and rings on it . I put a vortex diamond back tactical 4-12 x 44 on it. Had that installed at Gun store and had them recheck after range visit to make sure the rigs were still torqued correct. all was well so I don't think its that. Like I said vortex scope and vortex rings. any help I will appreciate as like I said for still its good but this is going to be my deer rifle. When its right I will be selling my Remington R1 in 30 rem ar. Love the rifle but just want a change' thanks in advance

Local Gun Shops That Stand Out - Good to Go
painterman replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
Atlas Firearms in Greensboro NC.....so far tons of info and have even saved me a few dollars here and there by steering me in another direction that works better. -
yes it does....from your pics and the pics I found I am saying this is a gen 2. New computer so I haven't figured out the copy and paste yet. Either that or or this site will not let me paste the http address I copied to paste. That's why I copied the pics and posted them here. So far this has ran great. A little heavy on the kick but half the recoil of any 308 bolt I have ever had. Thanks for the help as like I said I am new to the PA 10 and the 308 ar.
-
I am still learning this rifle....may have stayed away if I knew PSA had issues but both my previous PSA 223's were flawless. So far this rifle has ran 80 rounds with zero issues and was unfired when I purchased it
