So it arrived today and it measures about 121/8, see below. Its listed as a 308 gas tube mid length

I agree with you I meant it’s a hotter round than the 556 but also think it performs better than the 6.8spc, at least what I’ve seen. Not an expert by no means just what I’ve read and seen in vids. Dang ammo is so expensive to test with right now

I guess Afghanistan proved they need longer range as well. The 7.62x54 I guess really put our guys at disadvantages

We’ve gone full circle and now trying to go back to a big round. Be interesting to see how smaller people handle this system, carry and shooting.

So why not just use the 6.5 Grendel? I have a Grendel and it’s an amazing round

Dang how do you have time and energy to do all that? I work a full time job plus have chores around the house, take care and train horses and then try and jump on our elliptical for 30 min to an hr if my bad knees cooperate. I have a full day and somedays it doesn’t all get done.

Just curious what is the lightest bullet you’ve shot out of your AR308? Next question is what was the velocity and what type of group did you get? I’ve seen bullets all the way down to 110 grns, but curious if they fly any good

I ordered my BCG from Ballistic Advantage today. Wooo hooo i got it from them at a great price and BA is part of Aero Precision and BA is also the make of my Barrel so it should match up great.

I don’t know where I read it but they were talking about building the stock pile of this new round up and how lake city was re tooling for the round. Sounded like months before production could start

Have you received it yet? I know it’s supposed to be 113/4 but maybe put a tape to it and check the bend to the barrel

I’ve been following the Army as they choose a new rifle and round for it. I’m confused as to why they would chose a round that has to be ramped up to be put in production by Lake City rather than the proven 308. I am glad they went to a bigger round though I always felt under powered with the 556.
