98Z5V may not always have an off-road buddy who is free and available, who can break-away from home life at a moments notice. Looks like he can order one though. Looks affordable!
-
You seriously need this. It's partly because it's a 250R (omitting the 'ES', haha) and it is befitting of your stage in life.... the golden floor boards! 😄😄 😄

I have never seen that thing in action, but I can imagine you pulling up to your truck, your blood adrenaline level through the roof and you immediately chuck your helmet so you can slam a few cans of Bud to settle your nerves just so you can speak coherently to others.... ala Zhvonte. Tell you what, since it scares you, I'll take it off your hands for even less. Evil Kneivel never rode it so let's do $1,750.
-
I'll do you a favor and take that '98-500 off your hands for $2,500.

Some of my best Thanksgivings were spent with @98Z5V at the best sand dunes in America--Imperial Sand Dunes Recreational Area in Socal. Thanks for opening ATV'ing opportunities for me in Arizona and California, Brother! This said, 98 needs another reunion with his favorite Eskimo and the gang at Ogilby soon.... before we're too broke down and decrepid!! Happy Thanksgiving!!
-
That was a badass video! Thanks for making me antsy to ride!
-
That's for sure! It's going to come down to economics!

DNP, 98.... I for one am glad that after all these years you guys are still recognizable. 98, keep separating the wheat from the chaff.

Figured I should respond on topic to honor the OP. My wife ended up buying me a safe for Christmas before I got around to buying a utility box. I don't have all my arsenal; the rest of it is at my mom's across state. This is good enough for now. It was on sale at Sportsman's for I think $600 when they were about $800. I have never had a safe before so I can't speak to whether it's good or not... quality seems like a budget-friendly consumer model.

This stuff had a short production run and may never be available to any of you.... for the limited quantity I do have, it is my preferred whiskey.
-
Sorry about the high-drama BS. You need some 4-wheeled sand therapy. This sounds like a weird spirit journey, but didn't you ring in the New Year once with two eskimos in the SoCal desert and sand?
-
Well then we better plan an epic trip this fall!
-
I wasn't going to be able to make those dates either.
-
Let me see what I can do!
-
Hey, Yo! When I come out, would you mind carrying my paddles and some gas for me?
-
"...being around?" LOL!! I don't know how many times I've crawled out of my igloo to see you..... but I was 'around' then and I'm still here! Haaa!!! I guess ya gotta ask if he could ride in the first place. Message when the next outing is.

Don't count me out..... I mean that. Keep me in the loop.

@RedRiverII, my apologies! For years I hunted with bolt action rifles. This past year I hunted with an AR .556 my late father-in-law left to me. I instantly became a fan of AR-style rifles for hunting. I this past winter my AR was slung as I ventured out on 200 mile snowmobile rides hunting wolf, wolverine, caribou and spotted seals on the sea ice. (home from a day long hunt attached) I've thought about it for years but I am now ready for darn sure to get an AR10 for large game such as bear and moose. I hope to build a .308 before moose season and I figured that hanging out here, I can get an education. 98 would answer my questions and give me the scoop when we visited in person but trying to retain all that information communicated verbally was like trying to drink from a firehose. Sorry I chose your thread to sneak in. I saw the opportunity because I've been to 98's home where those orange boxes are everywhere. @Radioactive, these guys are true brothers. I'd lay my life down for either one of them...... okay, I would at least yell, "Duck!" 😄 @98Z5V, Had I not resigned from the Board of Directors I was on, I'd be down this December and could make the trip happen. We just moved across state again and the chances are now slim to none. You know I'd be there in a heartbeat if possible. For everyone else, this is showing off @DNP's work. His photography skills put me in a damn magazine! That's me on the black quad with the big roost, left page. Caption reads: "CENTER: This is Doug aka "Eski" Swanson's break in ride on his new KFX 450R in the Imperial Sand Dunes. His first KFX 450R was stolen during shipping from the dealer to Alaska... lost in shipping somewhere in Phoenix. Some good luck landed a chance to purchase another one so this was a very memorable ride for him. Eski flies south from Koyuk, Alaska every desert season and had begun camping with us at Ogilby on a regular basis."
-
You were in on it however when Jared came down, and then I hid on the trailer to surprise Tom!
-
Sigh.... I had to resign. We moved from Koyuk a few weeks ago. I represented Koyuk to that board. We are now just north of Wasilla. And, SEVEN boxes?
-
It was a birthday gift, 2009! My boss bought it for me and it's the only quad I've held on to. I knew if I used "Eski" as my handle like on every other forum there wouldn't be any suspense! You sunbelt boys can pluck your eyebrows over my KTM, you might just feel a little slutty that I've taken both of your rides up the hills out at the big sand! And back to the topic at hand, I do plan on a utility box..... as if I needed the endorsement of a guy who has enough to fill TWO boxes!
