  3. BTW JP did say either spring is fine with the low mass setup
  4. We have added a new sponsor to the site, Battle Arms Development. Most of you folks probably recgnize them as the guys behind the BAD A.S.S or BATTLE ARMS DEVELOPMENT AMBIDEXTROUS SAFETY SELECTOR. They ask that you visit their site here for more information and purchase the safety selector from Brownells. In additon to the AR/M4 line of products they are producing specialized M14, M1A tools.
  5. That's exactly where I stand. Even though their are superior cartridges the 300win mag is readily available and moderately priced. I think handloading is crucial with 338LM
  6. crap I had July in the pool <laughs>
  7. Did anyone else get the survey from Brownells testing interest in ammo sales? I think this could be a great thing for them if it's priced competitively. Midway certainly has gotten much more deeply into Brownells gunsmithing and parts territory.
  8. Maybe someone else with chime in but arent preban magazines a different design? I believe the current design is a response to the ban. Uncle Armalite will know for sure.
  9. yep you can run a .243 upper. Stick with Armalite and your good to go. Uncle Armalite often posts sales and such.
  10. Coincidentally the little woman and I ran into a former coworker who is looking like she will be a cancer survivor. She has one more round of chemo and she's done. Two years ago nobody would have believed this outcome. Just goes to show with good doctors, a positive attitude, lots of love and a little luck things work out.
  11. Their barrels are outstanding

  20. WINDHAM — The former owner of Bushmaster Firearms International LLC and other investors have created a new rifle company in the former Bushmaster manufacturing plant in Windham. Called Windham Weaponry, the company will make rifles and employ up to half of the 73 employees who worked at the Bushmaster plant, which closed earlier this year. More employees may be added before the end of the year, said a media release. "A group of investors felt there was a great opportunity for a new company when Bushmaster Firearms International LLC decided to relocate the company to another state and lay off all its employees. These employees in many cases have 25 years of experience in making one of the finest rifles in the world," said the release. Windham Weaponry will be located in the Windham Business Park and will begin production in July, with initial shipments scheduled for September. The investor group is led by Richard Dyke, who founded Bushmaster and sold the company to New York City-based private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management in April 2006 for an undisclosed sum. Cerberus affiliates own Madison, N.C.-based Freedom Group, Bushmaster's parent company, said a spokesman. In December, Dyke said he owned the Windham property with his son, and that they had business plans in the works. "I would like to attract some kind of manufacturing company, which I might or might not be an investor," he said. "I can assure you (the property) won't be empty." Dyke added that he had a noncompete agreement with Bushmaster's owner that expired in April. He could not be reached for comment today. Tom Bartell, Windham's economic development director, said Dyke established the new company without assistance from the town. "When Bushmaster went out, Mr. Dyke stepped up and said, 'I will try my best to ... bring something back to Windham and to the workers,' " Bartell said. "Stepping up like he did says something about his talents and drive." Freedom Group announced in December that it would close the Bushmaster plant in March. Bushmaster employed 73 workers. Freedom Group said it would retain the Bushmaster brand but move the manufacturing of products now made in Windham to other facilities. Freedom Group owns other firearms manufacturers, including Remington Arms Co., Dakota Arms Cos., Parker Gunmakers, H&R 1871 and Marlin Firearms.
