Im liking my Manta Rail section. I have three incomplete digits on my right hand. The MR allows me to activate the light without thinking about where my hand is located. Routing wires is just a bonus. Obviously it does add a little girth.

Armalite makes top notch weapons. That said some folks choose other alternatives based on magazine choices. DPMS having the most options while G3 compatible lowers have the cheapest magazines. For me Magpul making 7.62 PMAGs (DPMS) is a game changer. Unfortunately these rifles dont share the same standards as AR-15, M4 weapons. It also might be cheaper to buy a complete rifle and do some part swapping

Yeah DPMS has been known to let a rough chamber out. They will also usually take care of it under warranty

I asked them about putting one in a .308. They had not tried nor intended it. I plan on putting one in a 5.56 as well., maybe my 6.8 build <munch>

I think the thing is to own enough guns to have a different trigger in each one. <lmao>

You may just find that the gun is tight and once you get some time on it with the heavier bullets it may be fine with the lighter stuff. PMAG is still worth while, you will like them. FYI - I didnt reread the thread from the beginning but when we say run these things wet when new it means nearly dripping with oil (mobil 1) and not a light film like with an AR-15 I had a similar issue with an AR-15 and it was a problem with the gas block and tube alignment. Im surprised Remington didnt send you to DPMS directly. Thanks for the update. This is a curious one
