  1. Yeah. Midway has a fair amount but I had shipping damage on several delicate or heavy components, enough so Im only using them as a last resort lately. They pissed me off pretty good actually. What kind of accessories you looking for? Theres less choices in general with the AR-10 versus the DPMS,KAC pattern rifles
  2. Glad to help. I look forward to pictures.
  3. hmm is the quad rail free float? From a practical standpoint a gun this big and heavy is going to need to be shot from a bench, prone with a bipod. The Quad Rail isnt going to do much for you beyond looking cool (and thats ok). If this was a shorter gun that you would toss a tactical lite and a laser on I might think differently. Just an outside observation. Later down the line if you want to swap the handguard out you can get something like this ;D
  4. Thanks for the update. The SR is better then my Jard 3# adjustable. It's more inline with the Timney in my Remington 700. The question though is it worth nearly twice the price of the Jard? You bet! The Jard was bitch to install. The SR took a few minutes Im going to try the Wilson Combat Single stage next and maybe a RRA.
  5. You need to use .308 specific buffer parts. Look at Slash's chart . Dpms Parts .308 Standard Length Buffer Spring 308-BS-10B .308 Standard Buffer 308-BS-11 .308 Carbine Length Buffer Spring 308-CS-10A .308 Carbine Length Buffer 308-CS-10B Brownells has everything as a set. Stock,Buffer,Spring etc. Click Here If you have a DPMS upper you need a DPMS compatible barrel nut. The free float handguard you select needs to be available with a barrel nut compatible with your upper. Also be certain your bolt brand matches your barrel extension type DPMS with DPMS. Dont mix brands when combining barrel extensions and bolts Look at my picture is that the handguard you like?
  6. Welcome WTW!!
  7. Heres the thing. You don't want to buy a gun that needs to be ordered from the factory. DPMS has a massive backlog for civilian and military contracts. Additionally the more you customize it the longer the delay. They see parts shortages the same as we do. Items like Magpul buttstocks, teflon coated fluted barrels all cause delays. Now heres the thing. When the crap hit the fan guys were ordering guns from multiple sources and in many cases no deposit was required. Now here we are one year later everything is cooling off and the guys who ordered all these guns from multiple dealers really only wanted one gun from the first dealer to deliver. Now these unwanted rifles are beginning to show up in quantity as well as the regular dealer orders. As a result pretty steady waves of guns at very good prices. So the point is keep looking at and calling dealers or call Madhouses's guy. The guns are out there.
  8. Thanks for the info as well as joining
  9. Its much better quality than you would expect, shockingly so
  10. I think Im using this
  11. Nice collection. They all give the LR-308 a good size perspective
  12. maybe a better verification would be the pivot pin to the first trigger pin
  13. From the center of the front pivot to the beginning of the cutout is 4"
  14. Nah I got tied up with with a side job. If the phones dont ring I should be able to do it tomorrow.
  15. They are nice for sure
  16. lots of clp in the action on the bolt carrier group
  17. Btw these thing like to run real wet, especially when new
  18. When a scope doesnt work out well for me on a rifle it often finds a home on and excels on a .22 What are you going to mount it with? Just rings or something quick detach?
  19. I would say that's a good choice unless your shooting small varmints like woodchucks and ground squirrels at that range. Excessive magnification will give you problems at full power on hot days. I plan on using a 4x -14x on my next .308
  20. Typical elitist
  21. Theres no substitute for personal experience.
  22. No personal experience but I have read about them on occasion over at opticstalk and snipershide. They get slammed a lot for being NightForce knock off. There are guys who swear by them though for good bang for the buck sub $500. Strange krinkle finish on some of them. The complaints I recall were it was luck of the draw if you got a good one, full power useless and they get hazy in extreme heat The positives were price, seemed well constructed (from those that like them) Naturally you gotta take that with a grain of salt and put a higher value on the opinion of someone you know. I think the guy that sells them is in Texas so maybe he's at your local gun shows. Check them out and ask about the warranty. The 7.62/.308 is a little tougher on optics and mounts lastly if thats your budget the SWFA super snipers seem to be well loved at a rock bottom price.
  23. I can do this tomorrow or Saturday at the latest
  24. Nice! I like the fluted barrel. Have you decided on optics and bipod?
  25. Man that was friggin quick, awesome Im looking forward to pictures
