  1. You want free float. Just like a traditional hunting or target rifle you dont want anything touching the barrel that could influence it in any way. You will need a wrench specific to the barrel nut on your AR-10 and quite possibly a different wrench for the nut that comes with your handguard. You will also need a upper receiver vise block/action block to hold the upper securely and prevent damage. Alternatively you can use barrel vise jaws that can be trickier
  2. The Daniel Defense is probably the next runner up, excellent product. I havent seen the Larue product but Im sure there quality is top notch. Unfortunately you dont have all the choices that you see in AR-15's BTW dont forget Armalite has their own
  3. I dont know first hand. I have read there's issues with 30 round .308 mags in any AR platform. Are there 30 round mags available for the AR-10?
  4. I started gathering info here . Theres a few more Armalite specific. The SWS is a favorite among the AR-10 crowd but its not cheap.
  5. Im not aware of any alternatives but other more folks may know something. Brownells has recently started stocking Armalite's here. Armalite switched to modified M14 magazines during the AWB and never went back.
  6. Thanks for the heads up
  7. About time you came public ;D Nice to have you aboard
  8. Nice job. Having Fulton Armory nearby would be really really really bad...
  9. That looks awesome.
  10. Awesome, I hope it arrives without a hitch.
  11. I was solicited indirectly because of the advertiser stuff. I think folks in public service or a military branch could put some kind of creative spin in that direction. Ill PM you directly a suggestion for you after a bit of thinking.
  12. Thanks guys!!! You will all hear from me shortly Thread locked
  13. The price is pretty close to the same everywhere. I think its because they are a little hard to get at times. Botach Defense has it for $160 or something. I posted elsewhere about it. Disclaimer: Just be warned that some folks have had issues with Botach Tactical customer service. I assume they are the same outfit as Botach Defense. My limited transactions have been fine and I required no support.
  14. The PRS is awesome but heavy. Magpul makes quality stuff. I did nearly an Identical AR-15 too
  15. Thats fantastic!!!
  16. Nice bandit10-4!! Thanks for joining and posting.
  17. Where do you get it engraved?
  18. This site is starting to creep up in google search results. As a result It would be cool to have a few of you active guys as mods, keeping things going and keeping an eye on things when Madhouse and I aren't around. Id like you guys to be part of this for a long time. PM me if interested
  19. Should be ok now. Thanks for pointing it out. Im running on about 12 hours sleep total for the last week...
  20. Botach Defense has these buttstocks for $161 here The one caveat is you have to join their site for member pricing
  21. I love shotgun news. That was the place to go for everything before the internet. I subscribe to gun tests now too
