  1. These seem pretty inexpensive. Are they any good? Maybe a silly question but are the useable during daylight?
  2. from Military Times Browe gave us a look at their new 300 AAC specific reticle that will appear in their 4×32 BROWE Combat Optic (BCO). The BDC reticle features a horseshoe & dot with holdovers shown for super- and subsonic loads. The subsonic side is based on a 220 grain flying fist (perhaps Sierra’s HPBT Matchking?), while the supersonic side favors the Barnes TAC-TX shredder. The reticle is going to be familiar to anyone that’s seen Leupold’s Mark 4 MR/T. There are slight differences, though. The ranging subtensions are based on 19″ widths instead of 18″. I’m guessing that these subtensions are set up to measure distances based on an adult male’s shoulder measurements. Perhaps Browe thinks you’ll be engaging poorly tailored targets? It’s a useful to have a both BDCs, since the whole idea of 300 AAC is to be able to run fast or slow rounds through the same gun without messing with adjustable gas ports. The reticle suits the platform; quiet on the way in and hot, heavy and loud on the way out. From the manufacturer: The 4×32 BCO AAC .300 Blackout reticle is based on the popular horseshoe and dot style reticle and provides a bullet drop compensated (BDC) reticle for both the subsonic and supersonic ammunition. The 7 MOA horseshoe has a 5 MOA inner dimension and provides an illuminated 2 MOA wide ring for quick target acquisition. The center 1 MOA dot gives the operator that precision shot and was designed to be zeroed at 100m with the supersonic round or 25m with the subsonic round. For long range precision, the 4×32 BCO AAC .300 Blackout reticle features a BDC reticle that ranges out to 900m for the supersonic and out to 400m for the subsonic. The horizontal stadia lines represent 19” at the indicated ranges. The reticle also offers a horizontal mil scale that has an overall length of 30 mils, with indicators every 5 mil. Color options: The 4×32 BCO AAC .300 blackout reticle is available in four color options including amber, blue, green, or red. As standard with all the 4×32 BCO’s the illumination is controlled automatically with the BCO Target Light Sensor Technology. The target light transmission is measured and automatically adjusts the reticle to the proper illumination level. The 4×32 BCO also features a manual override if a consistent light level is required.
  3. I have noticed over the past two years Brownells has gone through a few different names for the 308AR platform. Most recently as the sidebar demonstrates AR 308. Today I was reading the description of the Black Rain Ordnance 308AR Receiver Sets and noticed Brownells is now referencing the platform as 308 AR. If this is not a typo kudos for a step in the right direction to get us all on the same page. <thumbsup>
  4. Let me know when you have the tool to install night sights. My Glock is begging for them <thumbsup>
  5. I hope we get to see some pictures of the CETME and that chassis when complete <thumbsup>
  6. I never saw it numerous times <laughs>
  7. and it's only the first week of school <lmao>
  8. I noticed that the forums I frequent including my own are quietest on Thursday nights. What is everyone doing? Is there a TV show I don't know about? Nookie night? Honey Do lists? What gives?

  15. I meant plural on the 1911's <laughs>
  16. <lmao>
  17. Well Ruger corporate HQ seemed to fit CT while Bill Ruger Sr was still kicking. I still think this is why Colt opened a new branch in FL. Hard to believe CT was the center of the US firearm universe. 40 years of democratic control has taken it's toll
  18. Im thinking of getting ammo or mags just for the sake of bartering with others when there is none to be found. Just cant decide which is of more value. Im thinking ammo Just now Im thinking of grabbing another 500 rounds of this .45 ammo. My 1911 and 745 love this shit.
  19. Well by most accounts the local shops here are extremely busy. Ammo, AR's and semi auto handguns flying off the shelves. Personally Im pretty set. Anything else I buy is just gravy. What are you guys seeing? Are you guys comfortable with your reserves?
  20. Well reasonably priced and light weight the nod could possibly go to the old stand by Harris. GG&G makes a nice QD adapter for it. Although with the adapter you are probably approaching the GG&G XDS prices. I use the heavy duty XDS on my .308's, the standard XDS's on my AR15's because BOBRO's are unavailable. Im not familiar with Bueller

  25. Caught this odd flick on IFC tonight . It was different. The myth of “vagina dentata” is taken to slasher film extremes in this horror comedy that had many male audience members at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival squirming in their seats – and thinking that maybe the abstinence that young Dawn O’Keefe (Jess Weixler) so passionately advocates during the film’s first act might not be such a bad idea. Despite being a spokesperson for the Christian group called The Promise that believes in waiting for marriage, Dawn can’t quite keep her teenage hormones at bay for too long; that ends up being really too bad for her the object of her desire, Tobey (Hale Appleman), whose insistence that their heavy petting go to the next level ends up having very bloody consequences. Mortified, Dawn seeks the counsel of a gynecologist (Josh Pais) and the comfort of another cute classmate (Ashley Springer), only to find herself in situations that encourage her to use her new-found “powers”; soon, Dawn has inadvertently turned her “curse” into a weapon and reinvented herself as a sexual avenger, a one-woman feminist force armed to the “Teeth” from which no molesting stepbrother (or any other sexual predator) is safe. A cinematic argument for keeping it in your pants (way in your pants) if there ever was one; if the sight of severed penises being devoured by crabs and dogs isn’t your thing, you might want to stay far away (though you probably figured that already). Jess Weixler received a Special Jury Prize in the Dramatic category at Sundance for her “juicy and jaw-dropping performance.” – IFC Staff
