  1. I guess MidwayUSA got a shipment in, my back order from Sept, 09 came in. I got 100 rounds for $97.
  2. My shooting buddy has (aside from his 2 LR-308s) a box-stock Savage bolt gun in .308, with the accu-trigger dialed down to just about a pound. He intends to shoot F-Class (1000 yards) with it, maybe this fall. We are both members and RSOs at a private shooting club, and we have 2 ranges - the farther one away has rifle ranges in 100, 200, 300, 400, 600 and 1000 yards - that's where they shoot the F-Class competitions. His Savage is setup with a SEALs scope, but I can't remember the specs on it. The gun is amazingly accurate at 400 yards, I'm sure it will be a real contender at 1000 too.
  3. BHW - is that a monolithic upper on the 6.8?

    HSM Ammo

I was at the gun show yesterday and I dropped by to visit with the local HSM distributor (had to get 500 rds of 9mm). He let me know that in a month or two he will be receiving some new .308 from HSM. It will still be loaded with the 168 match king bullets, but using some different brass. Supposedly they have a slightly different POI, but the consistency was just as good as the current .308 match loads we have been shooting (like those 500 rounds in my post above). The real selling point of this though, supposedly we should be able to get it for between $15-$16 per box. If it is as consistent as the previous HSM .308, this will be what I will shoot almost exclusively. <thumbsup>
  5. They never mentioned the trigger, probably just the standard setup on it. 0.68" @ 100 yds, not bad for a 16" gun.
  6. I've been to a <ahem> _club_ <ahem> in Emporia - quite the place! <laughs> We've got pipe running through the area, I've been all around those parts before.
  7. Welcome!

    Sig P226

I used to have a Sig P226. I let it go in the caliber consolidation effort when I got out of the .40S&W game, along with my H&K USPf and XD-40. Great gun, but the grip was pretty fat.
  9. Very good aricle. Thanks. But, I didn't think you Maine-iacs could read. <lmao>

    HSM Ammo

My friend had a very tight group at 300 yards with HSM, the day we took our LR-308's out. That's when we decided to split the 1000-rd case. <thumbsup>

  15. Welcome aboard! Looking forward to hearing your progress!
  16. I have to pay those guys 8.25 percent tax, so it's a bit more for us Texans. >:(
  17. +1, or call him. Robert Ochoa is his name. Sorry, I've got a buddy who reloads and I just gave him a bag of brass.
  18. Welcome aboard!!
  19. whoa, cool, thanks for the correction! I had some bad info...
  20. I guess I always assumed any quality mil-spec AR would be chambered in 5.56x45, maybe that's not such a safe assumption... <dontknow>
  21. This is the same condition as the 5.56x45mm versus .223 Rem. The NATO rounds (5.56x45 and 7.62x51mm) are a little higher pressured. Anything rated for 5.56 or 7.62 can shoot the .223 and .308 counterparts, but not vice versa.
  22. I got 2,000 rounds of the good Hornady 6.8 from TrueHunterSupply.com for around $1,700.
  23. Excelent, please do!!
  24. Welcome n00b!! <thumbsup>
