Pics of the dilemna are gonna be required. We already know you can post pics, too. Show what you're talking about here, and help us help you.

MagPul only makes one-height bipod. I've been running them since they came out, and I've beat the living shiit out of them, and can't kill them. Before MagPul made their bipod, I used a bunch of Harris bipods. I won't get rid of the ones that I have, but I won't buy any more of them, now. I haven't found a gun yet that won't work with a MagPul bipod, including my .300 Win Mag bolt gun. I won't buy anything else, anymore. They don't break. You can't break them, either. I abuse the shiit out of bipods, and use them for what they're designed for - LOAD them, and stabilize the gun. More often than not, I use them as a barricade brace, with body-weight to stabilize the gun. My bipods don't have an easy life, if that means anything to my testament to the MagPul stuff. Buy with confidence, for about a hundred bucks. That's cheaper than a good swivel Harris, right there.

You might not think it's beautiful, but someone will. It looks rigid - and that right there is the important part. You need rigid wood.
-
We wrecked your thread. Sorry. This happens alot around here.
-
So, you absolutely love my wood... That's what you're sayin'. I'll agree. My wood is AMAZING!... And you love it...
-
That's a bad bitch, brother. 500 yards with irons is a joke with that thing. It's all business.
-
I have beautiful wood. Drew even fell in love with it, and it's been beautiful ever since. I'm just sayin'... That's a full-on National Match gun - minus the freefloat tube. I need to trust someone enough to machine my wood, to fit that NM freefloat tube... Or fornicate my wood up, trying... I'm not about that. One of these days, though, one of these days... My Wood will be complete, and free-floated...

This turned into more than a plan, tonight. You are to blame for this, and you have to ride it... You ever seen Drift Trikes? This will be a Dirt Drift Trike. On Steroids.

I have a complete CR85 setup, ready to go. Engine, pipe, carb, CDI, wiring harness. I've been looking for an excuse to use that shifter-bastard on something... You can't control a whole CR500 complete, with a CR500 engine in it. It'll KEEL you. In anything smaller than a whole CR500, it'll just KEEL you more quicklier...

So, you take notice of the beautiful wood, huh? I've been told that I have some amazing wood. I'll show you a picture if you want.

Brindle rifle, Brindle dog! Both are badass!

Damn, man! You got a whole PILE of these! Nice acquisitions!

At least is didn't cost you an entire 6 ARC gun, like what happened to @DayWalker...

What I learned as a noob about building a "Frankenstein" LR-308

Great news, and great follow-up, man. Glad that gun is running. -
Read the post above... We never shorten the 48-hr requirement, but you might be mis-remembering...

Here is THE RULE: "If you post, inquiring about a product, be it new or old, and no one responds with a review within 48 hours, you are hereby required to buy said product, and review that product, so that this rule doesn't apply to the next person with the same inquiry. "The Rule" shall not apply to the announcement of new or upcoming products, unless there is some context inquiring as to who will be the first to assume ownership of said product. At that point "The Rule" will once again apply to the poster, who will be obligated to be the first in the stated question. While this shouldn't need to be stated, pictures are required, or that s*** didn't happen." That's a hard and steadfast legality here on the board - but it gets interpreted and applied at will. But, it is The Rule. The only other SOLID piece of information here that gets adhered to is Lesson 65b. The true definition is Lesson 65B is: You snooze, you lose. This happens when you're looking at something on sale from a vendor, or you see something advertised for a ridiculous listed price - and you wait, and think about it. So, you pull the trigger, and try to add that thing to your cart - and now it's out of stock... Lesson 65b bit you right in the ass...
-
Oh, don't rush... The Rule is: You ask about a product, nobody has it... But there's a solid 48 hours from when you asked about it, for someone to produce their review from here. If that 48 hours goes by, and nada... You're the Designated Reviewer!... I think @DNP is correct... he's only in for a brake. Others have been in for much, much more, once The Rule was invoked...

YOU NAILED IT!!!
-
I'd wreck that. No doubt, wouldn't think twice. I'd make me a Hero in a few seconds on that little fucker, right there. Like looking at a hot hairdresser... You quickly decide... "That's worth the risk..."

Nobody is immune, brother. It's happened before. And Newb's have stepped up in the past. I'm just sayin'... What better way to break one of them in, right? Research... I think the only time a Newb was backed up was on the 6 ARC stuff, when @DayWalker opened his mouth. I felt bad, and had already been looking at one hard, just DAYS after it was introduced - so I stepped in and saved his ass from the fire on that one. Mine shoots - I STILL don't think his is built yet...

Damn good loookin' gun, man - well done.

How much of a gap between upper and lower is TOO much?

How much of a gap between upper and lower is TOO much?

Nah, man - this is the thread. Just post the whole build here, the thread is already running. Here's my opinion on the upper and lower fitment, and "slop" in the receiver fitment... Lot's of people freak out about this, but hear me out... It doesn't matter. The only way it's gonna affect accuracy, is if the upper is actually flopping back and forth, left and right, in the lower. Once you slam a magazine in there, and rounds are pushing up on the bottom of that bolt carrier - even "sloppy receiver fitment" doesn't move. It can't. But it drives people crazy, thinking that they're losing accuracy, from those "sloppy fitment" receivers. It's rubbish. The accuracy of your gun is the barrel quality, the fitment of the barrel to the upper, the fact that the BCG headspaces, and it locks up tight (and isn't falling all over the place inside the upper receiver - hotdog down the hallway-thing)... and the ammo that you're shooting. That's it for upper parts, for accuracy. The only part in the lower that can affect accuracy is the trigger. Example - you WILL get better accuracy, in the exact same gun, with a Geissele Hi-Speed National Match trigger, than you will with some gritty, run of the mill mass produced mil-spec trigger with an 8lb pull weight. That's a given. It doesn't matter if the receiver fitment sucks, and you can wiggle it at home, in the living room, without a loaded mag locked in place. That doesn't matter. The upper parts, and their fitment matter, and that good trigger hitting that firing pin in the upper (in the BCG) matters. If you have to change receivers because the accuracy sucks, and those receivers had a little play in them - unloaded - then you've reached a great point in life. You have outshot your equipment, and need to upgrade your equipment in order to shoot better. In reality, no matter what you build, that doesn't happen often. With receiver play being the issue - I've never seen anyone improve their shooting, with measurable results, by changing everything over to "tighter receivers..." My $0.02... -
I don't recall anyone here reviewing one. This might end up being The Rule...
