I've wanted to do something like that for YEARS, man! Onsite MX track on the bike-shop side, onsite range on the gun-shop side, with a man-made lake in the middle with RV hookups... Steakhouse/saloon/brothel right in the middle of both shops.

Weather data, for those that are interested in this stuff: 8am 55.9* F pressure 28.49 in/hg 1351 altitude 1570 Density Altitude. ^^^ That's when @JBMatt was shooting. Here's when I was shooting my first attempt: 8:49am 70.0* F pressure 28.49 in/hg 1351 altitude 2700 Density Altitude. Load data: Federal .300 Win Mag brass, once fired, all trimmed to the minimum length with a Lee Case Length Gauge/trimmer. 225gr Hornady ELD-M, 2803 fps with CCI 250 primers, 71.8gr RL-22, hand-trickled in a beam scale. Loaded to 3.340" COL, all ran through the Lee Factory Crimp die at the end of the load process. Gun data: Rem 700 Long Range, 26" heavy barrel, 1:10" twist, Nikon Black1000 6~24 SFP scope in Warne Maxima steel rings, non-QD, sitting on an EGW 30 MOA rail. Vortex scope-mounted bubble level. KRG Bolt Lift (the original one) on the bolt handle. Timney 517 V2 trigger (flat trigger @ 2.5lb pull), Bell & Carlson M40 stock, MagPul DBM setup with 5-rd mags. Magpul Slingstud Bipod. Scope is zero'd for 500 yards, because it's bottomed out there, with the 30 MOA rail on the gun. Total dial travel for elevation is 22.6 mils, which would take me out past 2000 yards. 2000 on my dope chart actually comes up to 21.7 mils.

If you deliver the shiithead to him, I'm sure you'll get store credit, brother...

Damn, that's pretty cool!

Gonna have to search: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=us+made+ar15+brass+catcher Hit the Intro Section, and tell us all about yourself.

Compare to this - tell what you have.

Amazing, brother - what a hoot!... And thank you, greatly, for spotting all the misses... You were on, calling my "not-on yets!" Minor clicks for major adjustments, stay close, and the advice of "don't chase it with clicks." What we figured out there towards the middle of the day - 1/10 mil adjustments, at 1760 yards = 6.3" every time you click one. This is gonna be a regular thing here, now. We need Gun Pusher John to get that damn .375 CheyTac out there. Pronto!...

CCI 34s are hardened mil-type primers, but they're hot like CCI 250 Large Rifle Magnum Primers, and they're not the same as CCI 200 Large Rifle Primers. There's alot more punch in those 34s, over a standard 200. Same deal with CCI 41s for small, and CCi 400 standards, vs' 450 Magnums. Those 41s are magnum-powered.

No kidding... With the 500-yard zero, my dope chart has me at 16.1 mils at 1750 yards, and 17.1 mils at 1800 yards - this thing is dropping like a stone...

Here's how this was run - since @JBMatt actually went to the Long Range Shooter's of Utah "Milk Jug Challenge" last August, he's the one that's done it, and says how it's gonna get done - and it WORKS very well. Last August, he went up there, and did their course, and qualified at 1000, 1200, 1500, and 1760 (1 mile). So, You get your "first attempt" - which is 10 rounds. After 10 rounds, you're off the line, next person is up. After everybody cycles through, and if time is available, you can take your second attempt (another 10 rounds), and on and on... until the range closes, you run out of daylight, whatever. So, we talked about it last week, and we camped out there last night, just tented it. Had everything running this morning, and Matt shot his first attempt. Close, like ALL OVER THAT TARGET, but it's distance. Wind was light, around 2~3mph. GREAT day for doing this. I was up next, did my dial, laid my rounds down there, and was very, very close too many times to count, in those 10. Matt gets up there next, second attempt, and hits that fucker on his 8th round. I go through my second attempt, very close, and never connecting. Take a break, eat some breakfast, and go into my third. Hit it on the 5th round. So, Matt made it in 18 rounds, I made it in 25. That mile is no joke, even with the light winds we had - you wouldn't be able to do it in some of the heavier winds we've shot in out there at the 850 and 1k. Here's Matt's hit: Here's my hit, when we went out there to pull the target: I'd taken a ride on the Ace out there to check it out, and none of my shiit was working. Cell phone low on charge, GoPro eating it's own battery, camera won't function because of all the dirt in it - I knew what my hit was, and I got back and told them that it's about as close to being in the very direct center of this guy's head, as you can get. It was pretty damn cool. Here's the setup: Here's the only GoPro vid I got - and you can hear it shutting itself down even before I was done with this vid...

1 Mile is done, brothers. 16.9 mils of dial, up from the 500 yard zero. Light wind, maybe 2~3mph. Ended up dialing 1.0 miles left for wind. Shot that fucker directly in the very center of the head. Camera locked up from dust, and wouldn't open the lens. Phone battery was low, and wouldn't activate the camera function on it. GoPro battery is dying on me, because I fully charged it before going out there, and when I turned it on - it dies. @JBMatt spotted for me, and went with me to recover the target. He has a good pic of it. I'll get into more details in a little while, unpacking the truck right now. .300 Win Mag is the sheit.

I saw one of those posts, about where he went into the Pen, over on Full30, and I almost shiit myself - and thought "It HAD to be a bump-stock, and Oregon fucked HIM!!!"

Please ask questions, along the way - we'll answer. If something doesn't make sense, just ask. If something doesn't jive - we'll help, and correct our information if need be. But, asking is the most important part. At one point or another, all of us here have been through all of the questions that you have - not a single person, but the collective. We've all done this for a long time, and someone, here, has experience with what you're asking. We're here to make functional .308AR rifles - no matter what crazy caliber someone dreams up to shoot from them. We pretty much have all the calibers covered, amongst us, and tinkered and figured them out. Been a long, crazy road... If you want it solved - we've pretty much done it already, and we're here to help.

Are you serious?!!? No shiit?!!? Oh, that next pic - ALL pedophiles have a mustache, but not EVERYONE with a mustache is a Pedophile...

I appreciate your understanding, and acceptance to read, more than you know. THANK YOU for looking at the information presented, because it's about a decade of work, and experience, and trial-and-error on these platforms. It's proven information. Too many gloss over it, though, and try to argue it, without even looking at it in the first place. I commend you, and appreciate you. For YOUR time...

This goes down tomorrow. Took the day off work, so we can get out there and make this proper. What turned into a shoot for a guy that fixed his .308AR recoil system problems, during the Fall Shoot - and was prevented from shooting the 450 at night, THEN... Has morphed into this... "Let's throw down a shoot, right after dark, so he can pull this off - because his gun works now... - dark is 6pm, so we won't be out there long... " PLUS, who knew the off-set Long Distance Range 850 target was exactly 1.00-something miles from CAMP?! Well, we learned it that day, and I didn't bring a 1-mile gun to the Shoot - because we weren't gonna shoot 1-mile during the shoot... It all goes down tomorrow. We decided we're staying the night, too - light. Just tents, no heavy equipment. Fire ban here in AZ was lifted just a couple days after the Fall Shoot - so we'll have a RAGIN' campfire out there for this one... in memory of the Fall Shoot Campfires that couldn't happen...

You can cut the bullshiit now, and LISTEN... Or refuse to listen, and just be dumb. Go mount a real AR-10 handguard to your rifle, and see what happens - and make sure you report back on that. Tell me how you succeed on battling 16tpi threads vs 18tpi threads - you'll learn right then, I guarantee it. You can listen, or you can ignorantly argue an invalid point, and be a dumbass. Your call. PSA has never been smart, nor accurate - in listing products - nor put out fully functional PSA PA-10s, from their factory. Don't bet all your money on that basket of bullshiit.

^^^ This right here echo's aloooot of times in my life... "Oh, shiit - Hold on, we'll deal with this in a second..."
-
More details on this. What's the buffer weight? What's the spring pressure? This single part might be a mistake, pending your response on those details. When you choose "fancy shiit" - you choose "complicated solutions..." Stick with shiit that works. Don't complicate shiit with complicated shiit. Same thing goes with the adjustable gas block -if you're not gonna suppress this weapon, then you shouldn't need an adjustable gas block. Unless you are purely building a Race Gun.

Not here - bring that shiit down...

I support your fight, brother, more than you know. '86~'91, I was there, and I loved it. It was paradise. Started to go to shiit around '89, but just with that gang-banger BS, that started moving north, out of LA, but it was still cherished memories. The potential, is truly PARADISE, because that what that place is. But hey, I loved Washington from '92~'04, too - and the Libs fucked that one up there, too, after that. Wet Side RULES!!! Dry Side, meh, whatever. I love the Wet Side. I'm glad I sold my house there in Jun '07 - before the crash.
