LR308 not stopping on bolt catch, beating up brass
98Z5V replied to Revelation's topic in General Discussion
Bolt won't lock back with the gas block wide open, even?... You stated it goes to 15. You stated you tried 5~13. Run the gas block wide open and see what happens. Setting 10 is not letting your rifle "cycle rounds perfectly" if it's not locking back on the last round. -
You raise a very valid point, my good man...

Kel-Tec PLR16, with a rail that someone made fit... They ripped off the design from Olympic Arms, and the OA 93.
-
Yep, fuk them in the neck. Example: Hoe about a Colt LE6920 for $3895.00?... Fuk CTD, right in the neck.

Made an HF shot from Florida back to Ft Lewis, WA, just pissing around during training. Routinely made HF shots from South Korea to Japan while on training deployments in Korea. HF isn't hard, but it's completely different to play with over other bands, AND your antenna needs to be exactly on-the-money for those longer shots.

High capacity (21-rd) mags in a 9mm with night sights and a light on it, loaded with some type of personal-protection ammo, with spare mags, right there beside the bed. What ever pistol that's dependable, and that you shoot best - is the one for you. Next - AR15 in .223/5.56, with a light on it and a red dot, 45-degree safety and Geissele Super 3-Gun trigger. 30-rd mag loaded with my Barnes 70TSX load. 2 more mags right there. That should handle any made-up home defense scenario, in my house. After the first mag of anything, if there's more of them, the keys to open the safe are right there. Every imaginable problem-solver is right on the other side of that door, loaded.

That was designed as a lever gun projectile, but glad to here it works in this platform.

You want a mil reticle or an MOA reticle - I have two great recommendations for you, pending your preference.
-
Welcome aboard, Aaron!!! I hope you can make it out this weekend, brother - you'll love it! Give me a call whenever you need to - shoot a text first, I'll answer back.

The whole time I was in, I had an allotment going to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.

So, initially tumbled, but never cleaned after lubing them? You lube them to resize/deprime them, and you go straight to priming a lubed case?

The Ruger, hands down. Ruger makes a FINE bolt action rifle, and the Ruger American line is very good. If you're pulling one for $299 right now, that's a screamin' deal. The trigger is great, and easily adjusted, it's a 3-lug bolt, and it's already pillar-bedded into the stock. Already has a Pic Rail in the top, too. Don't pass that up, if you're nailing it for that price.

@Armed Eye Doc , that was so good, that you had to quote yourself there...

Damn, it must be a Monday after a full-moon weekend... The crowd is TOUGH tonight!...

Where did you buy this Aero Precision lower parts kit from? That pivot pin is not right. All Aero Precision - hell, ALL manufacturers - flatten the back side of the pivot pin. This one is round all the way around. Not a known pivot pin, from any manufacturer, that I've ever seen, and certainly not how Aero Precision makes their pivot pins. I once tried to mount a PSA upper on an Aero lower, and there was no way in hell it was going to lock both pins. Something was wrong. I tried that same PSA upper to a Matrix lower - No Go. There's something to be said here for using PSA parts when building a .308AR. You either go all-the-way-PSA, or don't. When you DO go with full PSA, prepare to do some work to the gun. You've complicated this process simply with the choice of the lower receiver, I kid you not. You compounded the problem using a Moriarti upper assembly. Not joking here. @edgecrusher's recommendation for a matched - or at leastfrom the same company - known receiver sets is the way to go, without further headaches, alot of cussin, alot of wasted ammo, and holes in the garage walls - because this combination is gonna make you throw expensive tools...

^^^ See what I'm talking about?... Truth in that.
-
This the one?
-
I KNEW you'd find that little gem buried in there...
-
Please explain your background, for making such a statement.

Go fuk yourself - I directly quoted you, and it's all here in the first page on this thread. Then, as I stated earlier - you better get your ass out there on the WWW, and find someone that can "bond" with you on the bullshiit that you're trying to learn - and you need to STOP blaming members here for the made-up thing that you're trying to learn, and ask about - and attack people here for not knowing WTF imaginary thing it is that you're DEMANDING information on. You get that part, right? You came here DEMANDING information. And - you can fuk yourself. Don't come here and DEMAND information from people. We worked hard for the information that we've found out, over the years, but that doesn't mean that you have a right to it. I worked for the information that I've found out - I'll SELL it to you. I WORKED for it. Depending on how bad you're DEMANDING it, determines the price. You want it RIGHT NOW!!! Fuk, that's expensive. You want it next week? My weeks are busy, but I'll TRY to get to it... That costs a little less... You get pissed off, because I told you I'd try to get to it next week, and I was overwhelmed with work - and then YOU TURN INTO A DICKHEAD?!!? The price just tripled. Because I don't HAVE to deal with you. I didn't come to YOU. It was the other way around. You, @Candid - need to go way back to your very first post, read what you posted, and read the initial reponses. THEN, you need to figure out, WHERE in this thread, that you turned into a complete dickhead.

I think I even corrected you early on, when you stated that the gas was a function of temperature - and I corrected that, and stated that these guns operate on gas PRESSURE. GAS TEMPERATURE doesn't have a fucking thing at all to do with how these guns operate, as far as the cyclic operation. Now, go on here, and fuk with me, and tell me about Alaska, and Iraq, and -50, and +130. I dare you. That doesn't have ANYTHING to do with the beloved "gas temperature" gnome that you're trying to figure out here. Which is a non-event. Bring it @Candid

^^^ That shiitstorm right there is the very beginning of this thread. You can't refute that, not even a little. Unless reading comprehension is a problem for you.
-
Then get your ass up on your research, find out what you're really looking for out there on the World Wide Web - FIND what you asked, and post back here with the results. The clock is ticking. This is almost like a challenge, here - but the clock is ticking on YOU. GO FIND your information - after the complete shiit-storm that you created here... and POST YOUR FINDINGS. I'll wait... Oh, good luck, too... I hope you FIND this unicorn that you BLAMED us for not knowing about... I'm all ears, here.
