Here's the primary reason I stated this, and why it's important for you to know. From a technology standpoint, I stepped up for the Spring Shoot this year, and we all grew in "capabilities" for distance shooting. MSRP: $820 range finder ($1,490 with Kestrel Sportsman) Street prices are closer to $700 for the rangefinder alone and $1,150 combined for the Kestrel bundle. I didn't pay nearly that, not even close, when I found the range finder on sale for $299 (with a 30% back promo running from Bushnell at the time, making the thing $200) and $360 for the new and improved Kestrel 5700 Sportsman... I killed this deal, and jumped all over it, and had it rushed here before SS18. We didn't even know the capabilities of it yet during SS18, as it all arrived the day prior to the shoot... Here's the last shot we computed through it, during SS18 - this was for the 12.5" Grendel, too. 10 mils of drop at 846 yards... ? If you know your ammo data, I can input it into this system, and we can make long distance shots MUCH easier. You need to find that data. You need to bring that data. We will input that data. This will shortcut everything on Long Range day, and aid in your shooting. It's not a "replacement" - but more of an aid in getting what's really going on with your gun/ammo. We will perform "ballistic truing" on your hits, and come up with the real DOPE on your scope. If you know your load, and you can send me that data ahead of time, I can build your profile before you get here, and have it in the menu to select, on the Kestrel. Ready to go. This is an unreal advancement in capabilities, it's just nuts... Here's a bitchin' article from Recoil Magazine on the technology available, and this combo is in it. "Pull out your laptop and get your geek on..." http://www.recoilweb.com/ballistics-in-the-palm-of-your-hand-109258.html

Don't fuckin' reply, and clog the thread up. READ the info, and soak it up. Look at this thread as a READ-ONLY THREAD, and resist your urge to respond to it... If you wanna reply, and talk shiit, then do it here - this is the shiit-talkin' thread, below - Hit the Matt-Cross link I inserted below... NOT this one. Information, information, information... Nothing to see here, move along after it soaks into your brainpan... Hit the link below to expouse your superior professionalism and general badassed-ness of yourself...

Eh, it's okay - everybody makes one, some time. Don't let it get to you. Here's a Tesla on fire... You know... it happens... Shot that 365 yet?...

That's all about art, design, and seamless workmanship for a showpiece... Just like Rob. Sexy motherfucker, right there...

@survivalshop is gonna ship that thing IN to you, brother! We can't wait for Sisco to move down there!...
-
@shepp you gotta do this, brother...
-
You already ARE an art piece, brother.

That's basically what my setup is, minus that extra inch in barrel length.

That is definitely the plan, all the way.

Damnit. Perfect, perfect weather for this time of year here - just had the remnants of that hurricane that came up the Baja Peninsula, so we had rain on Friday night and Saturday until mid day. Gun Pusher shoots me a text this morning at 5:38am - "You up? Go after some coyotes?" Hell yeah! I grab all my poop, check my license... it expired in February, and I didn't even catch it then. Eff me... Can't renew it until at least 7am, so I'm screwed on this one - from not paying attention. Ironically, I just loaded up a bunch of Barnes 70 TSX a couple weeks ago, loaded it all into 20-rd mags, and dug out my wounded rabbit call... Next chance at these mangy dogs won't be until monsoon season, on a dry morning after another rain...

Have him stop in, brother! He is missed!

Got an update on a new one for @blue109 https://gunstreamer.com/watch/steampunk-rifle-fully-functional-you-039-ve-got-to-see-this_hph47azlbVoQrSx.html ^^^ Great vid on it, and firing it ...

There is ONE pistol, on this Earth, that is the safest pistol ever created. Ever. No, it's not a 1911, and John "BY GOD" Moses Browning didn't invent this one. It's the H&K P7. You pick your flavor, the M8 or M13. Now that it's mentioned, go price that thing somewhere... There's nothing in the world that can make that pistol fire, unless the person holding it intends for it to fire. Someone tell me what that is - I've shot the living shiit out of an M13, so I already know...

I just wanted to reiterate what I stated earlier, before I post this video. This is nothing "scientific" by any means - but it is practical. This video is worth watching. Listen to what he says, in the last 7 or 8 minutes...

Here's the barrel, brother - the specs are screwed, and they still haven't fixed that yet. It IS NOT a 1:8" twist rate - IT IS a 1:10" twist rate. https://www.armalite.com/product/ar10-308-13-5-target-barrel/ YOU NEED THEIR BRAKE FOR IT, TO GET IT LEGAL. It's a true 13.5" barrel, so muzzle devices meant to get a 13.7" barrel to the legal limit just won't do it. I pulled the "Tunable Competition Brake" from DSG Arms for alot cheaper than Armalite's MSRP. https://www.armalite.com/product/103gnbrk01-ar10-tunable-competition-muzzle-brake/

That thing is 0~300 yards, point and shoot with the red dot. It's ridiculous. It was primarily fed my .308 range ammo loadings - whatever .308 brass I have on hand, CCI 200 primers, Hornady 150 gr FMJ-BT projectiles, and 44.0 grains of RL-15 powder. I don't think I've stretched it beyond that, but I will this fall. I'll see what kind of holdover it needs for 450 yards. Here's the build thread on that thing...

I've been beckoned... and I appear... Jacob, mine's an Aero Precision receiver set and 12" rail, with all Armalite guts. Gen-U-Wine AR-10 Carbine Recoil System, complete, AR-10 BCG, 13.5" barrel, and their competition muzzle brake (pinned/welded to the barrel) - which get's it just over 16", but just under 16.1". Worked out perfect, for "legal." This thing is a SOLID PERFORMER, brother! I've functionally proven that a complete Armalite AR-10 operating system will work - very, very successfully - in DPMS-based receivers.

Tried to upload that one ^^^ to Full30. You can't upload vids to Full30 - long story. Tried to upload it to GunStreamer, but the file was too big. So, it went up on YT, and I imported it into GunStreamer that way. https://gunstreamer.com/watch/vYetdHzmaaiWVdP

Got the first 209 rounds through the 19X this morning - in the rain here, of all things. Didn't mind it a bit - we need it BAD! Set two 10" steel plates out at 10 yards and 13 yards. Working on a short video now, and I'll add it in once it's uploaded...

Nah, TactiCat is solid, brother. He inspects every new one that comes onto the property... If it gets his blessing, it stays...

^^^ This, right here. A copy is not an original, and the brand hasn't been identified positively. You have a point where it worked. You have a point where it stopped working. Go back to that, and see what happened, before and after. I can tell you right now that you have that button screwed down too tight on the mag catch. Know how I can tell? The base of that mag catch shouldn't be sticking into the magwell of your lower receiver like that. At a maximum, it should be flush with it, but not protrude INTO the magwell. If it's INTO the magwell, you tightened the button onto it too much. This isn't an AR15, where the button gets screwed onto the mag catch threaded shaft flush... The receiver is wider, and you can't do that on these Big ARs... Fix that first, then test it again and report back with the issues...
