Im probably going to get a regular low pro gas block from Bravo Company or maybe even the Geissele gas block. As far as Gas Block go, im not sure to go with a regular one or an adjustable? <dontknow>If you already have that heavy buffer you don't really need an adjustable gas block. BCM or Geissele will do (although unless you really need to pin it I don't see an advantage to spending more on the Geissele). 10. Im pretty sure im going with this Wilson Combat Accu-Tac Flash Hider, .30 Caliber http://shopwilsoncombat.com/Accu-Tac-Flash-Hider-30-Caliber/productinfo/TR-ATFH-68/Why a flash hider over a compensator? Christopher67
Yup, the ACS stocks will collapse completely on a 7-position extension.Aero Precision's barrel looks like a good light-er weight option too. Agreed on the Aero barrel, but i want the bolt & barrel headspaced by either Fulton or Rainier, that’s why I chose them. I didn't wanna spend an additional $75 on head space gauges. 3. Im seriously leaning towards that BCM gas block. 4. Actually i don't honestly have an answer for that lol, i watched a couple of videos on the Wilson Combat flash hider & i seem to like it. I do like the LANTAC Dragon Muzzle Brake but at its price it makes me like the Wilson Combat flash hider even more lol.
Robocop1051
Flash hiders - $15-$50 - hide a flash Brakes - $50-$100 - reduce felt recoil Compensators - $100-$200 - reduce muzzle climb (Prices are approx, YMMV) Buy the one that's suits your needs. The price reflects it's level of engineering.

Robocop1051
There's really just the Cooley / JP brake.... and a bunch of clones. The real decision comes from, if you ever plan on getting a suppressor. If not, almost any "brake" will be sufficient. If so, you should be looking at something like the AAC Brake or similar. As far as a silencer for my .308, probably not going to happen, cause in Maine we can't hunt with one & I’m not going to spend like $1500 to use it just at the range. I like this one a lot http://www.jprifles.com/buy.php?item=JPTRE-5.58B.750 Would go very nicely on this barrel http://www.rainierarms.com/rainier-arms-selecttm-308-barrel-16-blk Whats your opinion on this http://www.jprifles.com/buy.php?item=JPRE-324 ? Im trying to decide IF the JP Recoil Eliminator looks goofy or not lol. Appreciate your input Robocop <thumbsup>
Robocop1051
The "Recoil Eliminator" is the successor to the old "Tank Brake" (like seen on the .50BMG)

Robocop1051
I built an 18.5" with the Cooley brake, and Timney trigger.... The current owner shoots it to 800 yards with no issues. BubbaSks has one on his LR308, which I have shot plenty. That is a beast of a rifle, but soft in the shoulder. I have an AAC Brake (two chamber) on my Ruger GSR Scout .308.... THAT IS A SWEET RIFLE SET UP!!!!

Christopher67
Ok picked up my receiver set today, um..... not happy to be honest. A lot of slop in the upper/lower receiver, where they meet in the buffer tube area. You can easily slide a playing card in there & see more day light then I personally care to see. I called Aero & they told me to send pictures, just waiting now to hear back from them. I even put the pivot pin & take down pin in to see if this would alleviate some of the "slop" no dice. *sigh* <munch> Anyone else that has this Aero receiver set have this issue at all? Christopher67
This is not my receiver set in this video, its another customers from ar15.com. Mine does this as well probably a little worse & Aero offered to swap his upper out. http://vid14.photobucket.com/albums/a313/brucegagneaux/20140721_220412_zps5087eb84.mp4
BLKSHEEP
Here's some reference pictures, LWRC 308 is pretty tight but I was able to get a business card in there, the JD Machine AR15 had a slightly larger gap.
