Zebra644
So I hate the knob that comes on the Aim Point Pro's so I've been looking at getting a Q/D mount. So I have to ask myself when I see a quality mount like the Aero Precision for say $30.00 that is not a Q/D and I look at Larue and ADM for $100.00 + is the Q/D on a patrol rifle really necessary? I have never taken the Aimpoint off of my current duty rifle that is being replaced with my new DD V11 LW and I'm not running a magnifier or N.V. What gets me is that SOB Murphy lol. It be mu luck the one time I don't put a Q/D on it that something FUBAR would happen to the optic. So I asking for opinions fellas.
392heminut
None of my mounts are QD, Once mounted and sighted in I've never had a reason to remove them. I don't have flip up BUIS on any guns either, but I can see where the QD would be useful there.
.308LiteHunter
If you run BUIS that co-witness, you should be set up if your red dot were to fail. At least until you could take it off. That's my plan. I'm curious about the need for a QD mount as well since Ill be purchasing a red dot soon. Microgunner
I use a QD on my light and magnifier so I can strip those big bastards off in a hurry if needed. Nothing else.
edgecrusher
I use qd on everything, all LaRue mounts, return to zero every time. When shit breaks, cause it will, I want one less thing weighing me down.
Zebra644
Yeah I run Mag-Pul Metal BUIS so guess I'd better stick with Q/D.
FaRKle!
All my stuff is QD. I end up taking them off and on more than I thought I would.
Rsquared
One of the reasons that I chose the optics that I use on some of my stuff. QD mounts built in. Return to zero every time. I find it easier to transport most of the time.
