irishbde
I thought I'd report back on my AR .308 adventures. My XM10 is fitted with a new SWAF 30mm 1x -4 ilum reticle optic. I took it to the range and got average results with a variety of fodder including hand loads and Fed GM 168 OTM. The groups ranged from 2.50 to 1.75. Nothing to scream about either way. Then I floated the barrel with a 13" Troy Alpha DPMS low profile rail and fitted a Troy low profile gas block. Holy dog doo doo It was magic. I didn't have much time so I only fired a couple of groups using Privi Part 168 OTM and Outback 168 OTM. Three shot groups at a 100 yards were fired and the results were pretty nice. The Outback put three shots into .80" of an inch and the Privi went 1.00". Not bad for an $870.00 rifle!!

irishbde
Here are some target photos from the range as well as two photos of the Bushmaster. The very nice three shot group off to the right of the dot was shot with a new Ruger American in 30-06 loaded with 56 grains of IMR 4350, 165 gr Barnes TSX, WW case and WLR primer. The bullet was loaded .05" off of the lands. This little rifle is a hell of a deal and very accurate as you can see!
98Z5V
Damn! That 30-06 is gettin' it done! The Bushy is doing well, too - good looking rifle, man. <thumbsup>
irishbde
Thanks. I'm very impressed with both as well. That Ruger is a tack driver
