Just rip off the old barrel nut and replace with the barrel nut of your choosing. Most new hand guards come with a barrel nut anyways. What are you thinking about going to? NTXshooter Posted February 24, 2015 Author Report Share Posted February 24, 2015 I was hoping I wouldn't have to deal with the barrel nut, just do a swap. Don't have a clue what I want at this point, I just want something lighter. I'm not big on quad rails. I have a 6.8 Coyote Carbine with just a round (I think it is a Hogue) free float tube that is way lighter than that one. I'll just add it to the list of things I need for these rifles.
