There is a channel at the top , not sure why ,maybe for gas tube to work on the upper with bbl. installed already ?

Those are for AR15 not 308, and I cant find one for a 308. One thing I have learned on here is if it dont state its for 308 its best not to use it.

are saying the black blocks are for AR15"s  or are you talking about model 1 type clam shell receiver block that you cant yet buy for 308? 

the block I have is black and is clearly marked 308

received the DPMS claw. it is defitlly better than the  308 brownells block I have.

I need your return address, and thank you again for the use of your DPMS  "CLAW" receiver block.

if I turn mine on it's side  the pin will fall out.  I am going to have to redo and use larger pins. even if I have to make them both pins are .250

pin size is  .250

measurement on receiver are :

hole's on upper receiver tabs are. .279  pivot pin is .277 the reartake down pin is at .284 and and hole .294

For future note to others:  First step in precision measuring is making sure your measurement equipment is right, or calibrated.  When something you measure looks wildly out of whack, suspect (and inspect) the measuring equipment first, or you'll chase your tail trying to find the real problem.
