TANGO2072
Here's one for you guys. This is posted over on ARFCOM / hometown / IL.A Guy and his son, at a local Cabelas'......"had a bunch of stuff in the cart, including a box of Surefire CR123 batteries. Get to the register and the last thing placed on the counter is the batteries.Cashier: "Can I see your FOID card please?"Me: "For what?"Cashier: "The batteries"Me: "Are you kidding me? It's not ammo or a firearm"Cashier: "Sir, if you want the batteries, that is our policy"Me: "I think I need to speak with the manager."Long story short, manager gives the same line of BS. Repeats its the store's policy. If I didn't need the batteries and hadn't had the gift cards, I would have told them to take'em and shove'em. Glad all the gift cards are spent as I don't think I will be returning there anytime soon.Anyway, just had to vent and thought some of the IL HTF would get a kick out of this story. " <thumbsup> <munch> <lmao>FUCKING WOW MANOH I am sooooo gonna have some fun with this on Sunday when I go to Cabelas' just out of spite

Madhouse
Unreal. Unless I were very deeply rooted in a career, I would GTFO of that state.
98Z5V
I'll try the Cabela's here in Glandale, AZ later this afternoon... I don't think that's a requirement for Surefire batt's here... <lmao>
imschur
Problem with stuff like this is their is know way to verify the truthfulness of the story. I get enough email from folks with tin foil hats to be skeptical of a lot of whats posted on the web if there is no way for me to substantiate it. 98Z5V
I ended up picking up a pack of 12 Surefire batt's and didn't have an issue. I'm pretty sure that's an Arizona thing, though. Maybe it originated from some kind of control of Lithium or something? <dontknow> I sure as hell hope it wasn't because Surefire batteries are "weapons batteries..." :o
