full auto 45
Ok, picked up a Winchester model 70 in 308 last week. Heavy barrel, Winchester composite stock, Harris bipod and a Burris scope. Scope will be replaced with either a Leupold or a Nikon M-308 like on my Rock River LAR-8. Trigger is stock and feels like maybe 4-5 pounds. Any suggestions on triggers or stocks?

Robocop1051
I know a sadistic bastard who owns a lightweight Mod 70 in .300SAUM (I think that's the caliber). I was foolish enough to fire three rounds through it.

Robocop1051
Whatever it was... it looked like a brass 12g with a .30 cal erection. It felt like a Mike Tyson punch. The first shot knocked me stupid. I think the second shot I shit myself and the third shot made me sterile for a month. I never had a rifle hurt that much. full auto 45
A friend of mine had a Remington bolty in 7mm magnum. I shot it 3 times. Went to the doctor to have my shoulder replaced. It was like a hit with a sledge hammer each time. My buddy I hunt with uses a Browning in 300 WSM. He doesn't shoot a lot, but 400+ yard shots is what he is after. I like the 308. At 100 yards or 600, it's a take down.

Malig8r
I really like my Tikka T3 hunter in 300 WSM. Although, after the first trip to the range my next stop was to buy a limbsaver!
Dane Armory
Limbsaver sure helped ease the pain!
