YWHIC
DPMS LR-308 with A3 Flat-Top. A2 Stock.. DPMS FF Tube w/vents.Hogue Pistol Grip, MBUS Rear, Midwest Ind Front Flip. MagPul Mags.DPMS Miculek Brake, Burris PEPR Quick Detach Model 8)Bushnell 4-12x40 Trophy XLT with 600 DOA (BDC) reticle & AO feature..(I had the scope and the BDC does work with HOT ammo 2850+ FPS)..The scope lens cap is just about RIDING the MBUS but the MBUS still has movement so it can't be that tight on it. <thumbsup>Using an almost KISS approach.. and my wallet thanks me.. 98Z5V
I'm running that scope on my .308 Kimber bolt gun, and the scope mount on my 16" 5.56 gun - both those pieces are great. That's a nice build, man. <thumbsup>
YWHIC
Thanks running under $1600 on a 308 is usually a good idea to-boot.Got about 200 rounds on the scope from my S308 using it prior to this being put onto here..checked @ 200 yards using the TAP and AMAX using ballistics charts and such... ranged @ 200 and shot right on point at 300 400 & 500 yard marks (at the 200 yard range).. 98Z5V
I'll say this for the PEPR scope mount - my 16" 5.56 gun won't fit in it's case with the scope on there, so I detach it everytime I pack up to go home. I remount it when I take it back out to the range, and it's still dead on. Next time I take it out again, I'll make a shoot for group size and see what I get - I'll report back in here with target pics. It's easily been on and off about a dozen times since I initially sighted it in. Next range trip I'll test it out for accuracy again and see what I come up with.Last time I had it out, it was still dead on versus the 300 meter steel silhouette. <thumbsup>
hobbesgunner
Nice lookin shooter....is that like the AP4 upper?? I'd like to get a short 308 upper to go with my LR 6.5. Yours looks like what I'm after........got a couple of those Burris mounts..really like em, clean lines, simple, strong mount. Haven't tried the on-off test yet but I bet they'd be awful close zero...
YWHIC
It was called an A3 upper when I bought it..it has a LOW PROFILE gas block.. and the HG can be removed without taking the gasblock off if I had to.. its lower than the HG front sleeve..going to run some more rounds thru this weekend.. 8)I ended up putting a new Nikon ProStaff 3-9x40 and taking off the Bushnell.shot this @ 200 yards last weekend.. 1 5/8" for 10 shots..
