This is just using maps as a navigation aid ,to be used when no GPS will be available . Like carrying topo's with you & navigating with a Compass . I have a place where I hunt in Ohio ,in a valley that I have no cell , so GPS will not work , but I know the area like the back of my hand & anywhere you walk a half a mile & you hit a road of some kind . There is also a cool software to plot your tree stands you have set up & gives wind direction , temp.at them , but them guys up there are always moving the stands , so hard to keep up with the ones they move .
