Traijin
I have used the 80% Arms Gen 2 jig a few times for AR15 Lowers. I love the jig set, it' very well engineered. The jig does both AR15 and AR10, time to try a 308 build. From what I gather, their 308 lower pattern is DPMS pattern Gen 1. They recommend an Aero Precision upper. I have no problem with that upper, but I would like to know if anyone has have experience with fitment from an 80 Percent Arms Lower to any other upper besides an Aero Precision upper. I would appreciate any input. Thanks
ZMan3k
I too am in the process of building an 80% arms 308. I decided to go with aero's M5. But was also told that people use CMMG's uppers without issues. https://www.cmmginc.com/product-category/uppers-and-lowers/uppers-uppers-and-lowers/308win-uppers-uppers-and-lowers/ That is the link they provided me when I asked for some popular options to go with. They also recommended Tool Craft BCG's because they were out of stock at the time I purchased my upper from Aero. Hope this helps you out some. ZMan3k
FInished the build and shot it recently. Was able to get a 3 shot group at 1 MOA. Have a Primary Arms Orion 4-14x44 scope on it and am really happy the way everything works.
SimonSays
Congrats ZMan3K on building a 1MOA gun. Go to the INTRO section and tell us a little about yourself. Give us a list of parts that you used. Did you run into any problems? If you did, how did you fix them? Now lets see some pics. The lower receiver, complete rifle, etc. Again, damn good job. Bear
I just finished an 80% Arms lower and used the Aero M5. Everything went together well. Used Aero's BCG, buffer kit, 18" fluted .308 barrel in bead blasted stainless, Aero's lower parts kit, and a Magpul PRS GEN3 adjustable stock. Pulling my hair out trying to find a suitable handguard (preferably 12", M-lok) that is actually in stock somewhere.

Skautdog
Where and what grip did you use for the lower??? My 80% Arms lower has two springs which need to fit in the grip. One spring is the selector switch spring and the other is the take down pin spring. I have not been able to find a a grip that will accommodate the two springs. TIA!
