98Z5V Posted October 2, 2018 Report Posted October 2, 2018 That's decent as far as dented case mouth - I've seen far, far worse, like "half-flattened" on some brass. Great work on that rifle, man!
mechanic Posted December 19, 2018 Author Report Posted December 19, 2018 Just a little update. Photo w/ the PA mounted. Zeroed with a laser bore scope in less than 30min & 20 rounds. 100 rounds cycled indoors with no malfunctions to note. MB2 trigger is so nice it set off a 5.56 build. Cant wait to get outdoors this spring. Just a little heads up to those new here. Listen to 98Z5V, he will not steer you wrong.
98Z5V Posted December 20, 2018 Report Posted December 20, 2018 Shoot, brother - I'm just glad to see it running, like it's supposed to run. You did well on that gun.
mechanic Posted February 11, 2019 Author Report Posted February 11, 2019 So the infection is spreading.... Long story short, a current 5.56 build is yielding enough motivation to build out the stripped upper from the OP, and switch up the 308 lower a bit. I'd like to mitigate recoil, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Current thought is longer gas length, adjustable GB on the upper, and longer stock & hydraulic buffer on the lower. Since I have a stripped upper, a SA AGB, and dimpling & pinning jigs I may as well. BTW, 98Z, I like where you're going with the Mod H.

mechanic Posted February 11, 2019 Author Report Posted February 11, 2019 Good point. Been looking at the gamma vg6. My options are limited due to location
edgecrusher Posted February 11, 2019 Report Posted February 11, 2019 You already bought a buffer but I personally feel a heavy buffer is a better option to reduce the recoil.
