Sisco
A senseless and hearbreaking tragedy. I know the Captain and crew of the rescue boat and have been on it myself. I know where it happened well, and went out to dinner last night with a friend who spent the early morning hours of Friday searching for the family’s bodies. I was on the lake myself that day but was off by the time the Coast Guard alert came through. I am truly saddened for this poor lady’s loss, yet glad Joe and his crew found her. Superior does not give second chances. Superior does not tolerate confident false assumptions and mistakes in equipment or skill level. I have had friends die on this Lake because they were overconfident. Everyday I go out on Superior, I feel a little fear, more so if I am responsible for other people on my boat. Please say a prayer for her and her family. http://www.startribune.com/father-3-children-die-mom-survives-boating-accident-on-lake-superior-near-apostle-islands/492190851/ Edited September 1, 2018 by Sisco
DNP
Very sad deal. I hope the mom has a good support group. I would rather die along with my family than be the sole survivor. I don't think I'd ever be right again after something like that.

I mean no disrespect and I don’t know their experience, but who in the hell over loads first of all, and then brings 2-4-8 years out on a lake that’s 60*’s? A lake that like you said sisco DOES NOT FORGIVE. Imo it was a very very poor choice and sadly they paid dearly for it....... related @Sisco Jim’s birthday was a few weeks ago, Hannah posted up a trubute to him wishing him happy birthday..... someone started cutting onions as I read it ?? Sisco
Yeah I follow her too. I saw her a while back, she is finally starting to get past it in her life. I considered Jim a friend, he and Hannah have been to our house, and that death was senseless as well. She seems happy in her new life down by Milwaukee. Sisco
Related: I took two kids 11and 9 out fishing today, along with their Dad and their Grandpa, who is my friend. Had an unexpected storm warning come in on both my phone and the radio. Turned tail and ran in, over their protests. Gave the Dad and Grandpa that article to read. They understood. DNP
Good call. When given the opportunity, try not to become another tragic headline.
