Boondoggle Posted September 22, 2018 Report Posted September 22, 2018 Been shooting for a long time but got into hunting and long range target about 4 years ago. Always had a AR-15 so I tried .300 BLK and 6.5 Grendel for hunting and didn't have much success with accuracy in particular. First target bolt gun was a Howa HB .308 that I dropped in a B&C stock that shoots lights out and hooked me on bolt guns. As good as the .308 is I drank the 6.5 Creedmoor kool-aid and that's now my target rifle. Have a hunting Creed too but an elk hunt next year has me building a 280 AI. All the above lead me to think I need to have a .308 just because and for SHTF so 25 rounds from a 7lb semi-auto makes more sense than 10 rounds in a 10+lb bolt gun. So here I am looking forward to the inevitable sage advice I'll need particularly for hand loading for a gas gun.
