Clearance - AR-10 7.62/.308 WIN Otis Pistol Grip Cleaning Kit

Armalite has these Otis Pistol Grip Cleaning Kits for AR-10s on clearance and I have not been able to find a better deal on them anywhere else. I imagine they could be used with other .308/7.62 battle rifles that have hollow grips but do not know for sure yet.  I will post a follow up once I receive my order if anyone is interested in details on these.  I cannot vouch for this particular product as I just ordered a couple today but do have and really love the Otis MSR/AR Cleaning Kit for .308/7.62MM. It is very compact and portable but not necessarily something I would carry with me in the field while hunting as it contains everything needed for deep cleaning.  I think these pistol grip cleaning kits may be nice for those occasions when you only need the bare essentials such as when you drop your rifle muzzle-first and clog your barrel with mud (first deer season at age 12 with my brand new Savage Model 99 .243 has stuck with me).  I do also have a Hoppe's bore snake which is good and could also be easily stored in a grip but want to give these a try too.

Thats pretty cool. Good find.

I think these will be pretty cool and I have kind of gotten used to giving Armalite my money (i.e. Strategic Arms Corps, https://www.sacfirearms.com/).

Amazon has the 5.56 version and its page has better pics and details than Armalite's:

Once of my rifles has a fancy Magpul MOE+ grip (hollow w/a locking cap) so I can definitely stow everything in that one without the Otis grip insert.  The other has a more basic grip w/out a cap. If the inserts don't work out of the box I'm pretty sure I can improvise some kind of solution to keep everything in the grip.

I see you're in AZ, did you know Armalite is moving/has moved to Phoenix from Genesco, IL?  Don't know if their space(s) in AZ are open to the public but if they are I would definitely visit (and geek out) if they are.

The Otis cleaning kits are very good - towards the end of my military time, they were issuing them individually, over the standard Army cleaning kit.  I still have two of them in the bottom of my range box.

The quality of my Otis kit seemed good to me but I'm glad to hear an actual expert's endorsement, thanks for the response 98Z5V.

I have the version of the .308 kit that includes the new(er) BONE tool and am also impressed by the ingenuity of its design.  They have packed all the tools needed for deep cleaning and a tube of CLP into a very compact little case.

I'm no expert, by any means - I just have time on my hands combined with a bunch of bad experiences...

The BONE tool is great!

When I visited the manufacturing site in Phx to pick up gas tubes  - they are struggling to get everything together, under one roof.  Call them, brother, on the phone.  Go through the push-#s to get to Armalite, and you'll talk to either a "Clay" or "Cody"...  I think it was Cody...  You'll get set up, right away...
