.308 Aero Precision BCG

Recommended Posts

I've recently purchase and Aero Precision .308 AR-10 from a local gun store that assembled it for me. First, I had a problem with gun going into full battery and wouldn't fire, so I took it back to the gun smith and he removed an o-ring. Then, I tried it again after that and it would occasionally go into full battery, but then I would double feed every few rounds. I'm using Armscor  M80 7.62x51 brass in it. What could the other problem be? TIA

True double feeds are two live rounds trying to enter the chamber at the same time.  True double feeds are ALWAYS a magazine problem.

Just to be sure that we are talking apples and apples... when you say "double feed" you mean what is in the picture - not "double fire" as in "two rounds in short succession with one perceived pull of the trigger..."   right?   If so - I'd make sure that the magazines that came with your gun are the right ones for the lower - and perhaps order a replacement of the right type but a different high quality brand.   (just what I'd do anyway...)

We need a LOT more info to be able to help you. Search the thread "waterboarding"

That's the kind of info we need to be able to help.

I'll help this one along, here...

This is what Rex is talking about - read this thread.  Then read it again. Understand the level of detail needed to diagnose a gun-problem over the internet.  It's pretty specific, in level of detail, in order to give you an accurate "assessment" on your problem.

Just like "double-feed." That's a magazine issue, never has been and never will be, anything else.  A Failure To Extract, and Failure to Eject can also leave two pieces of brass in the chamber - but they're not a double-feed...
