With that scope and the work you're looking to do, check out the fixed stocks...maybe a Magpul PRS. 

I'd start shopping bipods too.  While the Freedom Machine is currently wearing a Warne Tactical, the GGG is calling me...it's made locally too.

Planeflyer, that is some nice furniture...did I mention I was married? Honestly though I would like that setup. 98Z I am actually rebuilding a .223 over time. Ordered a stripped lower from Palmetto State Armory for $49.95. I have a Streamlight and NC Star green laser...and a 120lb Bullmastiff that is currently trying to rape me.

An Ergo or Magpul pistol grip ($30) and a new stock would be very comfortable. I don't think you need to go so far as a PRS. You can get a lot of use out of a collapsible stock. A Magpul CTR for under $100, or the Magpul ACS (any version) for just over $100.

The next phase is a trigger. Believe me, it will be a world of difference from Mil-Spec to "X". Brownells is having some decent sales on trigger right now.
