Stonebuster Posted May 18, 2024 Report Posted May 18, 2024 (edited) In the "fired" position, my LAR-8 has a charging handle that is sometimes tough to get back first time for chambering a round. It's almost locked-dropping the butt of the gun onto the ground sharply is the assist needed to free it every time. Sometimes a jiggle will work. Once the trigger has fallen no such problem. Is this a break-in issue? I wonder where the lockup is, and if I can polish a surface to get rid of this phenomenon. Buster Edited May 18, 2024 by Stonebuster
sketch Posted May 18, 2024 Report Posted May 18, 2024 That seems excessive for a " new rifle" ?. I would pull the handle and bolt out , clean and lube generously for starters. Try less rounds in the magazine or another if available.
shooterrex Posted May 18, 2024 Report Posted May 18, 2024 Soak the bcg in Mobile one overnight. Lock the bolt back and let it set that way for a couple of days. Had to do that with a buddies Stag Arms 308.
