telluwhat Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 OK I am sure you know. I want to know of a 40 cal magnum that can be converted to a 22 and back as needed? I eventually would like a 1911 that can also be converted to a 22. It doesn't have to be a desert eagle but I can dream right? If not can you tell me of something that could? I would like to have a hand gun with stopping power that I can quickly convert to a 22 for cheep target practice.
Robocop1051 Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 It's an easy answer, but it ain't cheap. 1. Only option I know of is a 19112. Get it chambered in 10mm, .400 Corbon, 45 Super, or .460 Rowland (although I think .45 ACP is plenty)3. Find a suitable conversion kit. Total, about $2k-$3k out of pocket
edgecrusher Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 Advantage arms makes them for 1911 and Glock pistols, very good reviews
telluwhat Posted May 3, 2012 Author Report Posted May 3, 2012 Does that mean any 1911 or Glock can be converted? I don't know much about these things. (Obviously LOL). Thanks for the help.Once I find the right handgun I can save fr it and then for the rest. This is a long term plan for sure.
edgecrusher Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 Not sure about all 1911s but definitely all Glock. 300 bucks for the kit I believe. I'd link it to you but I'm using my phone. I know glockmeister.com stocks them.
telluwhat Posted May 3, 2012 Author Report Posted May 3, 2012 OK thanks. Some 1911 and all Glock. I have wanted both of them for some time. I have a Rugrer P85 so I am not sure if i want another 9mm but once I see it in my hand who knows.
MikedaddyH Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 Action Arms .41AE ... Goes from a 9mm to .41AE with just barrel and a mag change. EAA 's Witness series also does changes with just a barrel and mag. This is a high quality gun line. (Bias opinion) ;DGlock 21 to .460 Rowland with a kit but its more extensive than just a barrel and mag change.Or you could buy the Ruger 1911-22 and a 1911 in 45acp and have two guns !
telluwhat Posted May 3, 2012 Author Report Posted May 3, 2012 Two guns sound like 2x as fun. Seeing many 22 pistols under $300 in a 1911 format.
