Robocop1051 Posted June 3, 2012 Report Share Posted June 3, 2012 I'm not 100% saavy on the pistol caliber AR's, so please correct me if I'm wrong. Aren't the STRIPPED upper receivers the exact same for the pistol calibers as they are for standard builds? I know for a fact that Ron Williams (Godfather of the DI .45ACP AR-15) uses standard AR-15 uppers for his builds. Does the Spikes version have something different on it from the standard AR15? moagm316 Posted June 7, 2012 Author Report Share Posted June 7, 2012 The 9mm is a GBB design so there is no hole for a gas tube and unlike other manufacturers that have that stupid plastic shell/gas deflector theirs is an integral part of the receiver. MikedaddyH Posted June 8, 2012 Report Share Posted June 8, 2012 Please put down the Spikes Kool-Aid ... Look at other manufacturers , the design is not that special. Do a little more research , you should be able to get a BCG for under $200 and the barrel extension is the ONLY item that is special.
