Guest LLArms Posted June 14, 2012 Report Posted June 14, 2012 Please keep in mind this thread is not a discussion on what you feel would be a better choice outside of the two options we are looking at. With the theme of the project we were thinking; standard optics setup? Or go with some futuristic type stuff? So the two choices are:1. 30MM Vortex 4-16x44 Viper HS Long Range, Votex 3" offset 30MM one piece scope mount, Vortex Viper 44MM sunshade, and Vortex bubble level attachment.2. Burris Eliminator 4-12x42; mount is built in, no additional items needed. The Eliminator comes out a little bit more, but for the most part, the prices are close enough in similarity we don't mind going either way. I've heard some good things about the Eliminator, and it sort of matches the theme of the rifle, but I also do not want to spend that kind of money on an optic that operates under some more advance tech, but the glass is junk.
survivalshop Posted June 14, 2012 Report Posted June 14, 2012 Stay with the std. type optics , I don't see that laser making up for wind adj..
blue109 Posted June 14, 2012 Report Posted June 14, 2012 Fyi...SWFA.COM has a trade in program and they give you pretty decent trade value. i just sent them a pile if stuff including a surefire weapon light..redfield scope..some mounts etc and they gave me $500 toward the scope i ordered for my new bolt gun. Could help if you have some unused stuff around the house.
planeflyer21 Posted June 14, 2012 Report Posted June 14, 2012 I'd be inclined towards the Vortex as well.Though it would be fun to play around with the Burris!Jon
