AngelDeVille Posted January 9, 2025 Report Posted January 9, 2025 (edited) I have one .300 blackout I built, it’s just ok, I think the thing I do like least about it is the compatibility with the .556 magazines. I don’t want any confusion during the zombie apocalypse. BUT my only flat top ARs are the ones chambered in .300, .308 and 9mm so it cuts down on confusion. There is no mistaking which magazines belong to this little gem, I think this is the first picture I have taken of it, as there are many like it but this one is mine it’s a milled yugo underfolder, pictured with my mossberg deerslayer. the only thing I would like is a light mount but I don’t want to add a tacticool rail or any of that carp, although a railed plastic forend wouldn’t make it look any uglier. BrianK Posted March 10, 2025 Report Posted March 10, 2025 There are ways to label mags to prevent confusion. It can be as simple as camo tape, paint marker, or a purchased option. When shooting I never have both a 5.56 and the .300 BLK available at the same time. It's one or the other.
shooterrex Posted March 11, 2025 Report Posted March 11, 2025 All my 300 BO mags have duct tape around the bottom. They also stay on the same case as the pistol.
98Z5V Posted March 11, 2025 Report Posted March 11, 2025 The struggle is real, and must be adhered to. Try having 6.5 Grendel (5), 6mm ARC (3), and 22 ARC (3). I NEVER take more than one to the shooting position. Ever. I only take the specific ammo for THAT gun, up there to shoot. They all use the same mags. I clear ALL ammo and the gun out of there, before the next one even comes out of the case and goes up. The struggle is real - but it's important...
shooterrex Posted March 11, 2025 Report Posted March 11, 2025 Yep all my 6Arc mags are FDE. Grendel are black.
Rsquared Posted March 11, 2025 Report Posted March 11, 2025 Yep. I use phase tape around my mags to differentiate them. Red for the hotter (faster) 5.56, and blue for the slower 300 blk. My Grendel uses different mags than Pmags.
