blue109 Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 you seem a little catty lately LL. from what ive seen this place is giving you more support and positive vibes than you are getting elsewhere. maybe take it down a notch?
Robocop1051 Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Besides BARFcom, I'm seeing an increased acceptance to this build. Lots of support popping up in random places. I think the "positive" and "negative" opinions are still out numbered by the "WTF is that thing?!?" group. <lmao>
Guest LLArms Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 you seem a little catty lately LL. from what ive seen this place is giving you more support and positive vibes than you are getting elsewhere. maybe take it down a notch?I'm not even sure what you are referring to, to be perfectly honest. <dontknow>
mrraley Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 I'm not shipping anything that requires an FFL. I understand it may not be serialized... and it doesn't matter if you are shipping anything that would require an FFL or not. The fact that they have one would show itself if they are gun friendly or not is all. <thumbsup>
Guest LLArms Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 Yea, but that is not something most advertise unless they are industry specific (like some of the companies mentioned above). In all honesty my main concern is just a good engraving - any company worth anything should be able to engrave something well and care less about what it is. Business is business and money is money.:)
alelks Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 To me more specific what is being engraved in to the piece? Is it a logo?If it's a logo is it the official loco of the company that is manufacturing the produce?etcetc
Guest LLArms Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 In-house serial numbers, product name, and in some cases flavor text (nothing elaborate). We don't need any 'picture' type engravings, like a logo for example.
98Z5V Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 In-house serial numbers, Say no more - that falls under ATF engraving regulations. That's probably why you were turned down by engraving companies, which is what I was originally trying to get you to understand. They either can't do it, or don't want the responsibility of doing it - putting them under ATF scrutiny. You didn't like what I had to say, though. You need to be able to see the forest through the trees, LL. You're ignoring that. By that, you're labeling companies you've tried to deal with, with your logic, as "Anti-Gun." Doesn't have anything to do with Anti-Gun, as much as it deals with company responsibility and liability - how much they're willing to take on - ultimately. That was my original point, with details. FWIW.You might be a "manufacturer," here, but what you're blatantly blowing off is the fact that there are some people here that know alot more about this stuff than you do. My $0.02.
Guest LLArms Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 By your logic, if we made decorative firearm themed aluminum toaster oven covers with serial numbers, this requires specific ATF regulations. You should have left it alone, no amount of grasping is going to make you correct in our situation. You still have no idea what we are engraving, nor could you even answer the question when posed.I've been patient with you thus far. I've entertained your non-sense so far. Life is about being right sometimes and being wrong sometimes. You need to learn to take being wrong with dignity and respect. Please stop posting completely irrelevant and bad information. And just for good measure I took the time to make a picture explanation:[img width=810 height=607]http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/8086/dscf5461g.jpgFirearm Related + Serial Number != ATF Regulations
Guest LLArms Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 In more simple terms, it would be like the ATF regulating a Magpul Pistol Grip if they so happen to want to put in-house identification markings on them.Or regulating a rubber/plastic rail cover if it had markings. No fire control mechanism? No classification? (ie; III)No regulation.Putting a serial number on something for the purpose of QA/Warranty tracking doesn't magically make it ATF regulated.
