Cunuckgaucho Posted Tuesday at 05:05 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 05:05 AM So any one have experience with them? Seems I should be able to cobble something together and take the flame out of the equation. Came across the following durring intial searching. My thought is to pick up one of these induction heaters and try it. While not a high volume unit in these configuration,it doesn't take up much bench space and i can use it in the workshop for rusty bolts ect. Plus if I wanted to upgrade to a high volume induction annealer there are enough plans/ideas on the web to copy. So any thoughts?

NF1E Posted 20 hours ago Report Posted 20 hours ago Still use a Giraud flame annealer here. My cases get annealed after each firing. Whatta Hobby!

Cost wise and this is a rough estimate in USD around $200 for the inductor, say another $15 for the timer the rest are miscellaneous bit some of which you can probably scavange. So all in about $250 Main bits are in now to go to dig through the scrap pile for wire(coils, extension cord, switch) and some aluminium plate(brass holder durring anealing) I came across some more developed projects with automatic feeder, water cooling etc. but the phrase Don't complicate poop with complicated poop comes to mind. The configuration I'm initially looking at is compact, versatile( still use it on rusty bolts, heat treating small parts), I might look at being able to use a press set up inspired by this. Be fairly easy to set up plus integrate a switch that turns on the timer at the top of the stroke. If it works out and you're intrestedI'll give you a complete parts list and when I'm down in the fall wire it all up for you. I can do the same for anyone coming down for the fall shoot. 19 hours ago, NF1E said: Still use a Giraud flame annealer here. My cases get annealed after each firing. Whatta Hobby! Agree it's a heck of a hobby. The gas units work just as well but being an electrician I kinda feel obligated to try this out. Between not have to worring about running out of gas or having a flame in my reloading room( from pictures yours seem roomiers and more spaced out) it's worth trying. If it doesn't pan out well I can use the inductor in the workshop.
