HDWarlord Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 I do have a 300 blackout sbr in the works, but i don't have a true 308 rifle :(That is about to change. The only thing that kept me from buying a scar 17S was lack of magazine availability.Without further adohttp://www.handldefense.com/product/handl-defense-scar25/
edgecrusher Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 Rainier has had that for a while ;)http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=3217 cheaper too!
SDDuc996 Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 I seriously HATE proprietary magazines. Good on Handl for coming out with this. Now somebody has to come out with a better looking stock.I said "better looking" Vltor, not new.
HDWarlord Posted September 12, 2012 Author Report Posted September 12, 2012 Now somebody has to come out with a better looking stock.I said "better looking" Vltor, not new.And maybe an non educating (reciprocating) bolt.
SDDuc996 Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 I thought I'd read somewhere that FN was addressing the non-reciprocating charging handle idea?
unforgiven Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 What uppers are compatable with this lower? <dontknow>
HDWarlord Posted September 12, 2012 Author Report Posted September 12, 2012 What uppers are compatable with this lower? <dontknow>I think it is only good for the scar 17.
98Z5V Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 That is one sweet piece of machinery - and very smart, too. <thumbsup>I had no idea that anyone was doing something like that. I think this thread is gonna cost me money... :o
HDWarlord Posted September 13, 2012 Author Report Posted September 13, 2012 I've been browsing the FN Forum and it appears that another company is also making a lower for the scar 17. The guy making the new one also made an after market charging handle for the scar 17. This guy has not released very many details about his lower, but hinted that it will take sr-25 pmags and have better ambi controls. IIRC he did mention that it would be machined from 6061.Many people on the FN forum have claimed to have bad experiences with the Handl company. I don't have any experience with either company, but I think i'm going to wait until both lowers are released, so I can make an informed decision.
SDDuc996 Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 I'd go right through Rainier for it, pending favorable reviews, and IF I owned a MK17.
