Hello everyone, I'm new to the AR and need all the help I can get. Last week I bought a Dpms 308 Sportical I plan to use for deer hunting. Had a Redfield Revenge 3x9x52 mounted and now stuck trying to figure out upgrades. As of now I know I want to replace handguard with a sling attachment, muzzle brake for less recoil, and butt stock. Later down the road after this hunting season maybe go with an 18" bull barrel. All help and ideas will be much appreciated, even better if you have spare parts for sale.

Thanks everyone and hope to hear from you!

Welcome Brave11!

Don't know about the DPMS but I have a 2-7x32 Redfield and am very happy with it.

Thing about the ARs is you can add stuff until the cows come home and still not be done.

Thanks for the welcome Jon. I saw that they have lots of parts. I hunt in Arkansas, hopefully I can get it partially set up and feeling right before next weekend opening day.

Welcome!  Good to see another louisiana brother here.  Ill be in bossier tomorrow and sunday for drill, actually.  If my rifle is done drying from its cerakote, ill be getting it back tomorrow or sunday.  Shoot me a pm, and we'll get some range time in one day.  If its done, we can meet up and compare notes.

Thanks for the welcome unforgiven and Russ.

Russ, I'll get with you when I get set up. I'll be in Taylor, AR this weekend taking my son on a youth hunt. Hopefully he gets a big one! Let a seven and eight point walk last weekend during muzzleloader. What range do you go to?

Welcome, beware that the bull barrel will add significant weight. To help with recoil, try a heavier buffer, worked on all my rifles, and Clint from heavy buffers.com will give you the right set up for your rifle
