Rsquared Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 Being the local Armalite pusher, I figured that I'd throw this out. Was just browsing through the (brace yourself everybody) Armalite sight, and noticed that they've given a little bump to the prices of some of thier parts. Not by much, mind you. Not nearly enough to stop an AR-10 (sleep with it.....shower with it.....take it for long romantic walks)junkie like me. Just noticed that things like field re-build kits, firing pin kits, extractors, yata, yata, yata....have gone up by about 5 bucks. Like I said, not enough to make me wince when I order stuff. Just an observation. Who knows.....maybe this means that a bunch of parts are about to start spilling out. HEY! A brother can hope can't he?
imschur Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 Im noticing increases everywhere. I think everybody is paying more up the food chain.
Rsquared Posted March 21, 2013 Author Report Posted March 21, 2013 You mean like raw cost's of materials? That would probably make sense.
imschur Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 and the folks who provide parts and services
brazosvet Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 Yes, but the gummit sez there is no inflation.
jrtMA Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 Some of the machines that produce many of these parts can cost millions. This is more for the larger parts. A company as big as Armalite might just be buying more to produce more. Just a complete shot in the dark guess...or they could just be trying to make more coin. Who can blame 'em. People will continue eating it all up regardless of whether there's a small bump in price.
Rsquared Posted March 22, 2013 Author Report Posted March 22, 2013 True. They could be trying to make a little more on thier parts. After all, they are a business and not a charity. But, to be fair, thier prices (for parts and such) have been pretty consistent for quite a few years. Now I'm not defending them. But,as I said, a small price bump wouldn't stop me (or slow me down) from buying parts. Hmmmmm. Isn't that the definition of a junkie after all?
98Z5V Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 Comes down to personnel, in a big way. Just to keep up with this silliness, many companies are running multiple shifts, and 24-hour operations. That turns into some decent overtime pay, because it's tough to find (more) qualified people that can do some of this stuff. My observations.
