gnatshooter
Whew! Okay, you talked me into it. I just ordered the AR10R-XH -10 oz. heavy buffer from Heavy Buffers. One of you has to send them an invoice for your sales commission.

gnatshooter
I hope you got the upgraded spring while you ordered! Nobody mentioned the spring. No, I didn't. What's going on with the spring? I don't have a flat spring, which seems to be the main concern of Heavy Buffers.
Robocop1051
While not exactly "REQUIRED".... Why not do a complete job, right? The Armalite AR-10 spring is considered an "upgrade" from a standard DPMS variant spring. Call Clint at heavybuffers.com and ask to ad the spring to your order. It's an extra $15 for the new spring... But that's a small fee for the added sense of security. While its advised against by Clint, I personally use a Tubb CS Flat Spring. It was a spare part I had sitting in my box (left over from when I had the hydraulic buffer installed). The flat spring seems to be working fine for me right now. survivalshop
My Superior Spring ( Tubb's ) is also working good for me . I will be doing a comparison of springs later this year in a 308 , 16" bbl. ,when I get all the springs together .

You need to make sure your bolt carrier has enough of the rear hollowed out for the rod to fit. This buffer system wouldn't fit in my PWS .308 carrier. washguy
Heavy buffer's from slash would be my choice...and for your ears while hunting get yourself some electronic ears.....you can hear the noises in the woods a lot better and then protect them when you go bang! :) Wash
FaRKle!
Min is hollow all the way to the firing pin. I thought all of them were the same???The diameter of the hollow portion may not be the same size. Mine has a heavier carrier and thus a smaller hollow portion that doesn't fit the buffer's guide rod.
washguy
The K.I.S.S principle most always comes thru for me....and especially when dick'en around with the ar 308's gas/cycling system :) Wash brings to mind when I was fishing all the time.....all those products lining the shelves like lures and stuff...what do the lures catch first? Why the fisherman of course!
